Vegetarianism

Vegetarianism

Postby Anansi » December 3rd, 2011, 10:24 pm

I'm sure you guys already know what it is, but for the sake of making this thread's opening post at least somewhat substantive (which I am not good at XD), I'll include its definition:
"The principle or practice of excluding all meat and fish, and sometimes, in the case of vegans, all animal products (such as eggs, cheese, etc.) from one's diet"
(Source: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/vegetarianism)

I was a vegetarian for about eleven years or so, but tried meat one time (I don't remember where, honestly XD) and have loved it ever since. I don't eat it very often, though, since I'm the only one in my immediate family who likes it. I personally think vegetarianism is a healthy lifestyle; it just isn't for me.

My opinion is boring. I want to hear yours!

I don't know what they do to those chickens, but they sure are delicious.

^ lulz

While vegetarianism is healthy in a lot of ways, it lacks important nutrients that only meat provides.

Haha, chicken is the best!

Someone elsewhere once said that Colonel Sanders' tie resembles the body of a stick figure. Now I can't see an image of him without thinking it does, and that it has a somewhat realistic-looking yet disproportionately sized head!

I've read that conjugated linoleic acid is only found naturally in the meat and milk of ruminants. They probably have it in supplement form, but why go to the trouble when you can get it straight from the source? Heheh.
If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian. ~Paul McCartney
While that is actually a true thing, *Cough*SearchFor"MeatVideo"ForProof"*AHEM*.
I choose not to think about it, if something tastes good then darn it I am going to eat it, life is too short to limit yourself in that way. On that same note, I fully respect that people would choose not to eat meat for clear reasons. I do think that some people make quite a song and dance about it though, and while you eat at my BBQS, there is usually only one vegetarian option, as opposed to about 8 different kinds of meats and if you do not like it then you can STFU and GTFO of my garden. It does make things so inconvenient sometimes, especially in large groups where one or a small number are vegan.

And yeah to answer the OP, no I am not. However I have a number of friends who are and based off the experiences from what I have observed on their part, I am glad not to be one to be quite honest (again as I said, fully respect the choice of those who are.)

I love animals and I've been a vegetarian for 10 years now. ^^

I don't know about Zebra, but I can sure do with a nice juicy steak right about now! :)
And because it's the only way to get revenge for the cows invading the hills around my home.
(Irony: I was called a 'lion' once in real life because of how I ate some prime ribs. Needless to say, they were great)
