Lion King 1 1/2 From Another Character's Viewpoint?

Now I'm not out to bash Lion King 1 1/2 (After all I did actually like it), but I have always felt that the concept would have been better done had movie been dramatic (as Lion King 1 and 2 were) rather than comical. To that end I believe that Telling the Story through Nala's eyes would have worked much better than Timon's.

What do all of you think, is there a different character who's eyes you would have liked to see the story of Lion King 1 told through?

^ Yes, Nala would have been great. But I think that Scar and Sarabi would have also been good candidates as main characters of which to tell the Lion King through.

Absolutely, Sarabi would have also been a great choice and telling the story through Scar's eyes would have been a great idea. Everyone seems to want to really know what makes Scar tick.

Telling the movie from Sarabi's viewpoint is interesting, but she's a minor supporting character to say the least as she didn't have much to do in the original story, and the fact that Madge Sinclair passed away long before the concept of The Lion King 1½ was even thought of. Anyway, interesting idea, but Sarabi's new voice would threw me off.

Now, Nala is even more interesting, but, half of her story was already told in The Lion King musical as relating to why she needed to leave the Pridelands, though I doubt they have Scar's harassing of Nala in the movie. The song, "Shadowland", would be included, and all we all what happens next after that.

Finally, Scar is the best choice as his story is like Macbeth, which continues with the Lion King films paralleling with Shakespeare, and fans do what to know how he obtained his scar. However, the original film didn't include more of Scar's reign, because the filmmakers felt it would make the story too depressing, so the same scenario would have played.

Yeah it would be impossible to recast Sarabi.

that is true but I think an animated version of Nala's story would not have to exactly mirror the musical.

It also occurred to me that they could have made the movie from Zira's point of view, as it would explaining her and the Outsiders's origins, how she came to know Scar, and why they were really exiled by Simba.

That would have been a great idea. It would also have filled some of the plot holes in Lion King 2.

Honestly, I don't think The Lion King II has any plot holes, just unanswered questions. And, yeah, it would be vital to filling what happened between 1 and 2 therefore 1 1/2.

When I first heard of Lion King 1 1/2 I honestly though that would be the premise, I was somewhat disappointed to hear that it was actually going to be Lion King through Timon's eyes.

I'd want it through either Scar's or Nala's. Those movies would be way better than the 1 1/2 we have now!
