[Closed] Little Stranger (Taraji Chapter 1)

Kivuli listened to Simba's carefully. Although he didnt show it, Kivuli was tensed inside. He loathed being bossed around. He was a lion that did things his way when he wanted. Know he needed to ajust and obey laws. It wasnt easy. Simba finished dishing out orders. Kivuli responded If thats what you want, then ill do it. Doesnt sound so tough He started walking off to begin his patrol duty. Kivuli quickly turned his head back See you later Simba He started to sprint off, heading towards the Outlands

Nodding to Kivuli as the grey furred male took his leave, happy in the fact that he had accepted his duties with no flack whatsoever, Simba called after him as he departed.

”Thank you Kivuli.”

Rahina raised her head and observed the new lion. She did not show any sign of wanting to wake up Kopa. "Why should I wake up my mate? Is there anything like an emergency or something you cannot tell me?" she was a bit annoyed by the commanding tone of this new lion. She did not want to disturb the well deserved slumber of her mate. And even less for some unknown lion that just evaded their den without any question about them wanting to have a guest.

Rahina wanted to be alone with Kopa and with her thoughts about telling him that she was bearing.

As Kiara left Taraji instinctively crawled - still sleeping - into the mane of Kovu. It took some more time until she slowly woke up. She had been awake long time the last evening because Kovu was not there and thats why she slept longer than normal.

She was a bit suprised that she saw Kovu and not Kiara. She opened her eyes and was awake pretty fast. She looked around in the den searching for Kiara. She tried to wake up Kovu but with no result. She snuggled her body against his belly while passing him and leaving towards the den's entrance. She wanted to search for Kiara. Kiaras scent still lingered around the den's entrance and Taraji wanted to search for her, now that she knew Kovu was here again. Taraji felt her stomach growl very loud and her first thought was about getting something to eat from Kiara.

Taraji followed the scent of Kiara but all the other scents confused her. She faced the way to the private waterhole, the only direction she remembered where to go, and started to pad there now and then calling out for Kiara with her soft and small voice.

"Not at all, you misunderstand." Shani said soothingly. "I've just come here as a fellow traveler. Us strangers in new lands have to stick together wouldn't you say? I'd just very much like to discuss our places in the pridelands, maybe we can help each other settle in. I've got a den not far from yours, and I'd be ashamed of myself if I didn't introduce myself to my new neighbors." Shani spoke almost sheepishly, as though embarrassed by Rahina's attitude. "I'm ah, sorry if it's too early in the morning for you." Shani spoke towards his feet.

Inwardly he grimaced, but none of his thoughts surfaced in his words or his expression. He was frustrated by Rahina's rude and unwelcoming greeting. He wished it were Kopa who had woken up for his initial greeting, because Kopa tended to be more passive according to Shani's information.

Rahina observed Shani with a wary glimpse. She did not trust him. He gave her the feeling like Jelani who once evaded their territory. For her he seemed sly and just trying to get his own benefits.
Not wanting to be rude she put on a smile that could not completely hide that she did not trust him one bit.

"Well, then I would say welcome here but but discussing our place in pride lands seems not really be needed. At least not with someone other than the king. We are not sure ourself how long we will stay here but... well we have just arrived here. I think the time will show what we will do." The least thing Rahina wanted to do was discuss their personal matters with this strange lion.

She licked over the cheek of Kopa and twisted her head for that because Kopa was still lying behind her. Then she faced Shani again. Waiting for his response.

Unfortunately for Taraji, Kiara had already covered quite a bit of distance from their den and was already making her way up the slope leading to the main den. There was no way she would be able to hear Taraji’s little voice, even through the clear morning air. Blissfully unaware of her daughter’s predicament, Kiara disappeared into the heart of Pride Rock, taking a quick glance around before spotting her mother, who seemed to be attending to Vitani. Padding silently over to where the two lionesses laid, Kiara spoke softly to her mom as she took a seat on the opposite side of the slumbering lioness.

”How’s she doing Mom?”

Gazing up at her daughter with a friendly smile, Nala replied in an equally hushed voice.

”She’s doing better now Sweetie. I take it Kovu informed you about what had happened to her?”

Nodding to acknowledge her mother’s statement, Kiara spoke in return.

”Yes, he did. He’s sleeping right now with Taraji, so I wanted to come check up on Vitani myself, just to see how she was. Looks like she’s out of it though Mom, so I guess there is no point for me to stick around, hmm?”

Rising to her paws, Nala actually nodded as she replied softly.

”As a matter of fact Sweetie, if you could just stay with Tani for a short while, I need to stretch my legs and answer the call of nature if you don’t mind. It’s getting more difficult to carry around a cub and not have anyone know about it after all.”

Nodding in an understanding way, Kiara took up the position to which Nala was previously situated at before she spoke.

”Sure thing Mom. Take your time. I’m sure Kovu and Taraji will be sleeping for a while, so there’s no hurry for me to get back.”

Giving her daughter a quick nuzzle of appreciation, Nala bounded silently out of the den, leaving her daughter and friend in each others company. Enjoying the morning breeze that whipped through her cream colored fur, Nala decided that she would head to get a drink at The Private Waterhole however, not wanting to draw attention to herself, the queen of The Pride Lands opted to take the back path around Pride Rock, leading to the exclusive local. Had she gone the usual route, she might have encountered the wandering crystal eyed cub but this was not to be it seemed.

Laini yawned and looked at the still sleeping Daxis. This night had a lot of events for Lani. Not only the cub that she now had to care about but also she had been woken up a lot of times by Daxis struggeling.

Laini was not used to sleep in one den with another lion yet a cub and so she was not sure how to act. She could not stand up without the chance to wake up Daxis due he lay on her paws. Not able to do anything else she started to bath him while he was still awake. She started with the head and the not full grown mane, continued with the paws and then moved on.

Taraji came in sight of the private waterhole. She had bad memories about this place due last time she fell into the water. And still no Kiara around. Taraji thought about turning around and move back to the den but the wind came from behind and she was unable to get the scent from there. Taraji felt lost not knowing how to get back from here. Under normal circumstances she might have found the way back from her memories but she also started to panic. She seemed to be alone with noone around. She just continued to head towards the private water hole and call out for Kiara.

Daxis was still asleep and felt a pleasurable feeling on his dark brown fur. He awoke slowly and noticed slowly it was Laini and she bathed him. The red maned cub let Laini know he was awake by licking her nose softly.
He stretched his body and spoke low.
"Good morning .... uhm mommy .. if I'm allowed to call you Mom..."
His stomach rumbled and disturbed him when he was talking to Laini. "I'm hungry.."

Laini was a biit embarrassed being called mommy. She avoided the answer of Daxis first question and answered his second while raising to her paws. "I will try to get something for you." she anwered the cub. Normally she entered the main den when noone was there but it might be to early for that. But she already accepted the duty on caring for Daxis even if she still was afraid that she would not be able to manage it. She made a quick groom on herself and then left the den to get something to eat for Daxis.

Laini knew that she would never be able to hunt something herself so the main den was the only option for her. She just hoped noone would be there and that there would be something to eat.
While she padded towards pride rock she thought about her new situation. She had barely been able to care for herself and how should she now even care for a cub in addition. She remembered all the times she fell asleep hungry because she was to afraid to get food from the main den. She could not let the cub suffer the same but... Laini was not sure if she ever would be able to hold the promise she gave Daxis.

At first Daxis was a bit sad Laini didnt answered on his first question but the second answer made him feel better.
The dark furred cub sad up and watched after Laini.
"Ok thank you" he felt the golden furred lioness was a bit overtrained with carring for Daxis thats why Daxis was trying to do not curse any problems.
