Did You Think Scar's Death Was Sad?

Quite honestly, I'm usually in the middle of a giggling fit during that scene because of Ed's insanely sadistic laughter the moment before. But maybe that's just me... C:

I thought of Scar's death mostly as a victory.

*laughs* Not at all and agreed, I think it's more of a gleeful moment in the film than anything...

For me, Scar's death feels like a circle completed. Mufasa was killed when his own brother (whom he trusted to the very end) betrayed him. Scar did not have any brother to betray him at the end of the movie, but he did have his hyena friends who he trusted. Except that they lost his trust upon overhearing his pleas with Simba. So much like Mufasa, Scar died in his time of need, killed by those he trusted to help him.

What goes around comes around.

It's funny how the hyena trio conveniently arrived on scene just as Scar threw them under the bus, so to speak. :P

I think she meant that it just so happened to be those particular three, though I guess it would have the same effect if it were any other group of hyenas. And no, Scar dying was an inevitability (not least because he sentenced the entire pride to an eventual death) ^.^

To me, I don't often get weary up when a villain dies, unless I really liked them, but that's rare. I fall for the good guys. Anyways, I didn't really get sad when Scar was killed, even though the way he died was intense just by the look of the shadows. If you're a super fan of Scar, it may seem sad, but I understand. In general, it's not meant to be a sad death. Just a villain defeted by the hero and suffers a painful attack at their last moment of living.

Yeah I imagine being eaten alive is quite a painful way to go. But when you think about it, he had a pretty bad life did he not? I mean always living under the shadow of his brother, plotting to become king, only to do so and fail in technicolor glory...
