Amy was rather shocked at what he was saying, even more so at his last question...
"Well...it's not easy to explain. It means that you have freedom to do what you please, go where you want...choose your own mate".

Dakoda was even more confused at Amy's shocked expression. "Why would it matter who I get as my mate as long as I have one?" his father told him that the only reason for mating was breeding. "And how am I to go where I please when there's a war everywhere?"

(( Sure thing, I'll go take a shower in the meantime =o I think Amy should explain to him that not every meter of the earth is in the middle of a war, otherwise the 'go where you please and do what you please' wont make much sense to him. ))

Amy growled slightly at his first reply to her answer,
"A mate is for life, your meant to love her". She then listens again to him, and sighed,
"There is only a war going on here, yes there may be war elsewhere as well, but not in my land, or the lands after that...war doesn't mean you have to stop your life".

((I'll go for a shower too =P Get it over and done with))

Dakoda was even more confused the more the conversation carried on. "Love?" it was clear from his tone and expression that he had no idea what she was talking about. He shook his head and looked at her curiously and maybe a little hopefully, "There isn't a war everywhere?" despite how tough he was, there was always the worry of getting killed or having someone from the pride killed. He couldn't help but wish from time to time that it was different.

Amy gave Dakoda a sympathetic look,
"You really don't have any idea do you?".......she smiled suddenly, "C'mon, show me to the waterhole, tell me...is there anything you wondered about or you've wanted to do or see?".

Comador in the meanwhile had been listening to every word. He growled slightly, knowing they wouldn't be able to hear him anyway. This lioness was filling Dakoda's head with silly nonsense about there not being war everywhere.

"He's even questioning her about a different life! Hmmm...maybe he's just been temptated, this lioness is very pretty after all". A wicked thought flashed through his head, but he dismissed it for now. He continued to listen in.

Dakoda said, "Well we're on the way to the waterhole right now. What do you mean?" he was quiet for a moment, "Well, it will surely be interesting to see what it looks like when there's no war. Also what was this 'love' you mentioned?"

(( wow i pressed post and left for like 10 mins, i came back and it hasn't posted yet saying : "some1 else already posted, you may wish to review your post in light of this". GOD ))

Amy sighed and continued walking to the waterhole.
"Love is hard to describe Dakoda...it's like...a happy feeling, to love someone or something is to have a special place for it right here", she explained, pointed to her heart just like her mother did when she explained love. "You can have love for your family, friends...you mate, love is what makes the world go round really".

Amy was right, it was hard to explain what love was, because he hardly understood anything. "Do... parents love their cubs?" he asked, realizing that the only thing he has ever recieved from his parents was orders, and from Amy's description, that was not even close to love. he basically stared at her without saying a thing.

Amy looked to the ground, it was not something you heard every day. Dakoda had obviously not had the best cubhood,
"Umm...yes...well...mine do...".
