Due to the nature of muscle, at a relaxed moment, you only have the ability to use a bit more than half the maximum potential of your muscles. Trained athletes can get that number up to 80%, but with lots of preparation. When you are in extreme stress, your mind allows the body to use more of the muscle power, reasoning that a bit of damage to the body due to "overclocking" is safer than getting killed because you couldn't outrun something. But the term "overclocking" is not entirely correct. Think of it as the speedometer on a car. When you are in extreme stress, you mind allows you to rev up to the red-line to escape danger. The engine is the same. It just gets to use more of it's potential in one moment.

Simba was clinging for dear life and maybe when Scar told him the truth, Simba's body finally was able to tap in to that source of strength, thus jumping up and landing on Scar.
And if thats not how it happened than it must be one of those Disney rescues.

Or maybe he found an awesome foothold at the last second. I always thought that.

Somehow this makes it look even more impossible. o.0 I mean, how is Simba leaping from that angle? Can he fly, or is there ground beneath him?I like to think the Great Kings gave him the strength to jump, regardless of how impossible the feat is.
