I picked Overprotective father, Loving father, One fat lion, and A Jerk. He definitely is very over-protective of his daughter, but considering what had happened in his own life, it's not surprising he wants to protect and make sure Kiara is safe. I've had an overprotective father myself, so I immediately spotted the signs. However, he wouldn't be overprotective if he didn't love his daughter, in my opinion.

As for being a jerk, he certainly was one toward Kovu with banishing him from the Pridelands and not listening to what Kiara and Nala had to say about aforementioned lion. However, he did redeem himself at the end by admitting he was wrong about Kovu.

As for one fat lion...I'll just put that done to animators and the lack of diet programmes for lions in the savannah. ;)

I picked:

"An overprotective father!"
"A loving father!"
"I love SP Simba."
"He follows Mufasa closely."

Honestly, Simba was extremely overprotective, but honestly, can you blame him? His own eagerness to go off on his own and his ignorance as a cub caused him to get in all sorts of trouble, which led to his father dying, at a very young age. Cut him a little slack; that traumatized him. It's only natural that, when he realized Kiara possessed the same qualities he did as a cub, that he would be really worried for her. It was just out of love.

I picked "A loving father".

Lastly, I wish there was an "All of the above" option, though I disagree Simba being a fat lion because he has more build because he went back to eating meat. Also, I thought Matthew Broderick did an expectional vocal performance as Simba.

overprotective and loving. He made bad choices based on fear. Fear of failing as a father, failure to protect his daughter and prevent her from making his mistakes. His approach seemed harsh but was never meant to be 'jerky' he simply was inexperienced as a young father and through wanting to protect his child he pushed her away. Scar left a damaging mark on the pride and his banishing all Scar's followers was harsh, yet maybe a little bit needed at the time to cleanse the pride from bad thinking. His wariness of Kovu is warrented, unfortunately he takes it too far and deems him unworthy right away, even when he relented a little bit during their 'walk' right before he got attacked, that makes it impossible for him to think Kovu had nothing to do with the attack. He should have trusted his daughter more since she was a young adult but in his fear to be a failure of a father and a king and to make up for pushing away responsibility for so long he came off as nothing more than a jerk. it just took his daughter and her beau to teach Simba a lesson in love, to use the words he used and make him truly understand their meanings. this movie has beautiful lessons of love and forgiveness. Simba had more growing up to do and it was a great journey to get to that point.
Well I totally prefer SP Nala over SP Simba to be honest. At least she's smart enough to realise that judging Kovu is wrong xD
I loved SP Nala too. All three seconds of her. :rofl2:

Seriously though you guys have to remember the source material. Simba's Pride is basically Romeo and Juliet and whenever you adapt this play, certain things come attached. One of those is the fact that the parents are overprotective jerks. Without this character trait, the plot wouldn't work. I think it was irresponsible of both Disney and Director Bradley Rooney to choose this path for the sequel. I've seen fanfic writers come up with much more interesting stories and they didn't even work full time like the crew.

Anyway I chose:
*A tyrant He controls every aspect of Kiara's life and tries to control Kovu. He also banishes the Outlander because...uh...[insert cricket sounds]
*An overprotective father See above. Since the sudden change in personality between the TLK1 and SP was done without any (a) reason, (b) built up, or (c) after-the-fact explanation, the writers look unprofessional.
*One fat lion The lion needs to stop sleeping tonight (get it?) and starting going for a morning jog. Also, why is he (along with pretty much everyone) off color? It isn't hard copy colors. If Microsoft Paint can do it, Disney Animation has no excuses.
*His voice actor is bad *ring* *ring* What's that? I think it's Matthew Broderick phoning in his performance! Ha! Ha! I'm too rough on him sometimes. :innocent:

1. A jerk.
2. An overprotective father.
3. One fat lion.
4. He's judgemental.

Tbh, I didn't like it when the writers made Simba an overprotective father and a complete jerk. They just completely ruined his character in the movie, imo. :/
Leaving. Might be back if the bill doesn't get passed.

I chose:
1- I love SP Simba. (I think he's perfect in SP...) 8-)
2- A loving father! (He was just trying to keep Kiara safe...)
3- He does well to train Kiara (he told her "we are one" and then Kiara made him see that this is for outlanders too)
4- An overprotective father! ( I think he is an overprotective father, but I think he is not wrong for it... he was afraid to lost his daughter as he lost his father...)

I really like SP Simba... He is a great father and a great king! :)
And... he's not fat... :P

I chose overprotective father and loving father.

He was overprotective, and I didn't care for some of his decisions, but overall, he really loved Kiara and was trying to do the best thing for her.
