Pride Wars (Private ~ TW)

(Actually, I change my mind, I think I'd like a meeting between Durmo and Gazna in the night time)

Gazna beamed down at his mate,
"Yes, our little angel". The newborn cub was batting playfully in the air, and news soon came that another cub called Kasi had been born a while after Uskiu was. Gazna sent his congratulations and then looked back at Haloea,
"My love, I have a meeting with Durmo, unfortunalty...I will never let a peace treaty be signed though, not when we could rule all of this land, I bid you farewell for now". He nuzzled her and then left, looking back at his cub before trotting off to the arranged meeting place.

Haloea sighed as she watched her mate leave. "Oh, why wont he listen? We don't need more territory, and this was has brought us nothing but death and losses." she finished and looked at her daughter, as if the cub was actually old enough to understand her. "A pride in war is not the appropriate place to raise a cub..." But she knew she was basically talking to herself. She looked at her daughter again, feeling cheered up as she noticed the female cub's innocent smile.

Later, Durmo and Gazna met on the border between the Jua pride's territory to the Mwezi pride's territory. "Gazna." he said, using the lions name as a way to greet him. "I heard you have a daughter, congratulations." he knew that Gazna never responded positively to his friendly attempts, but in Durmo's opinion it was always worth a try.

Uskiu, of course, couldn't understand her mother. But there was something about the words she said that would change the newborns thoughts on the war as she grew up.

Gazna didn't smile, but he didn't frown, "Durmo...I also heard you had a son". He paced back and forth while growling, "You better keep your son away from my daughter, I heard a tale about a lion who tried to get to the a leader through his daughter before".

Durmo kept calm, "I have no intention of letting my son anywhere near your daughter." especially not when the Gazna's daughter had Gazna and his warlike thoughts to grow up with. "And you better not try the same thing with your daughter." he continued to remain calm and decided to get to why they were even there. "Why did you want to me to come here?"

Gazna had a twisted mind of sorts when it came to war, many knew he had killed lots of lions in his time, and many think he shouldn't have a cub. "Well, you see Durmo, obviously we need this to end, and I want it to end in my way". He smiled before continuing,
"If you do not hand over your territory now, I will have to start to take it by....force".

Durmo gritted his teeth. "You have no right to force a pride out of a territory which is their from generations back. Look, stopping this war is obviously the best solution, your pride has enough territory as it is. This can all be avoided, it's unnecessary. This will end at nothing more but lions dying on each side. Aren't you considerate of the young ones in your pride? Their mothers? Pregnant lionesses?"

Gazna laughed, almost evilly.
"Don't you understand Durmo? We are different, you are the enemy, my pride will be fine, yours however...". He grinned,
"Better keep Lea at the den, there might be an....unfortunate accident".

Durmo then growled, "If you give her even a scratch you will be sorry." there were patrollers on the border and within the territory at all times. Just hurting someone without anyone noticing wont be easy for Gazna or anyone from his pride.

Gazna smirked, "Hmm...we'll see about that". He turned around and stalked his way back to his mate and daughter, knowing there was going to be dark times ahead, not that that was a bad thing in his opinion.

Durmo growled and also headed back to his mate and son.

Haloea looked up at her might when he arrived. "How did it go?" maybe there was some sort of a miracle and they decided to end the war, but she knew that this was most likely not the case.
