Endless Diamond Sky
Simba and Nala were overjoyed to be married now. Right now, the two young adult lions were lying on a small hill not too far from Pride Rock and stargazing. The sky resembled diamond-studded black velvet, a far cry from the bright blue of the daytime. The smell of flowers wafted through the breezy night air.
“Look, Simba, the great kings and queens approve of our love,” Nala said with a smile, referring to the twinkling of the stars.
However, Simba was hardly focused on the stars, beautiful as they were. His attention was focused solely on Nala. He had never seen a lioness so beautiful. Her eyes sparkled like the stars and her fur seemed to capture the smell of the flowers, causing her to constantly smell like them. Oh how he loved her! Meanwhile, Nala took her attention off of the stars to gaze upon Simba. His mane was such a handsome shade of red, and it made him look so magnificent as it blew in the wind. His face was so unbelievably handsome. Suddenly, both realized what the other was doing.
“See anything you like?” Simba asked with a cocky smile.
Nala’s sapphire eyes narrowed in a flirtatious manner.
“Oh Simba, I like all of what I see in front of me,” he said.
She then reached in and gave him an affectionate lick. Simba smiled. He then got up.
“Race you home,” he said.
“You’re on,” Nala replied.
Simba then took off running, Nala close behind.
“Don’t feel too bad when you lose, Nala!” he said.
Nala smirked and then took off, quickly getting ahead of Simba. He tried to keep pace, but was eventually beaten. Nala sat there, smiling proudly.
“Don’t worry, handsome. I still love you,” she said, her tail tuft brushing against Simba’s nose as she moved away.
Simba followed her without a single word. Soon enough, they found themselves atop Pride Rock, once again looking at the star-studded expanse of sky above them. However, Nala suddenly got a devious expression on her face. Without warning, she leapt forward and knocked Simba to the ground.
“Pinned ya,” she said with an excited smile.
Simba smiled and pulled her down so that he and she were eye-to-eye.
“Did I ever tell you how beautiful you look right now?” he asked.
Nala rubbed her head under his chin. That night, under an endless diamond sky, the legend of their love, a love that would be remembered for a long time to come, officially began.
