"You will start tomorrow first thing in the morning," The trainer told them. "Once it starts, you will all be on your own. From then, anything can happen." He gave all of them one last look before getting up. "Be her at dawn." With that, he left for the cave system.

Delano calmed down by the end of the announcement, and was thinking on how to proceed with it when he looked at Muroki. "What?" He asked, examining his brother. "You look like you've seen a ghost..." Just moments before Muroki had also been smiling, clearly grabbing onto some of that enthusiasm that Delano had. But now, Muroki was looking like... that. "What are you thinking?" Delano asked, sounding worried. "We're going to make this through, right?" Was it something the trainer said?

Around them, the others got up and left to do their own thing, leaving Delano and Muroki alone.

Muroki looked at his brother after a few moments, "Of course we are. I was just thinking about what he said." after a few moments he spoke again, deciding to tell Delano what he was thinking. "The trainer said that others would gladly remove others as competition. I don't know about you but I think he actually meant that a trainee would attack another trainee. Also the only reason for anyone to do that is if the rocks are very hard to find." he was quiet for a few moments, now sure that the most annoying part would be searching for the rock once they were there. "But I'm glad we're going together. I doubt anyone would actually try to attack two lions at once." he smiled.

Delano hadn't thought of that. "Oh, I see.." He said, "I thought he was referring to others outside these lands, not about the others." But then he also smiled. "But just like you said, no one will try and take on the two of us together. Not unless they are crazy." He shook his head, not feeling worried. "We'll be fine."

He got up. "Come on, let's get some extra sleep. Tomorrow we'll start that search, be finished within three days, and then well leave this place."

Muroki smiled and put his head back down on his paws. "I wouldn't mind some extra sleep at all." Even though they hadn't done any hard physical activity recently, he still felt tired, tired of this place. "Also, we should hunt something in the evening, and eat just to have enough left for tomorrow. We will eat as soon as we're up and start the course right away." that way they wont have to waste the beginning of their three-days limit on hunting. He looked at his brother and, noticing that he was up on his feet, got up as well. "Where are we going?"

"I err..." Delano let out a laugh. "I don't know where I want to go now," he admitted. "If you feel like it, we can really go hunt now, while it's still light out, and then rest for the rest of the day." He looked around, searching for prey. "I would rather hunt now and rest later than rest now, hunt, and rest yet again..."

He looked at his brother. "But if you would rather rest now, we can do that too. Or I can go hunt by myself..." Muroki looked tired, but Delano wasn't sure how smart the idea of resting right at this moment was. "I mean, if you sleep now, you won't be able to sleep at night, and that will be even worse." Delano explained, "So might as well go and get something to eat now while we can."

Muroki thought for a moment, before realizing that Delano was right. Even if he did feel as if he was tired enough to go to sleep now and still sleep again during the night, they shouldn't be risking like that. Muroki nodded and stood up, "You're right. We should be able to go to sleep early." he hadn't though about it like that, but the earlier they went the better because they would have more time to try again if they somehow messed up their first attempt. That way they wont end up doing those retries while it already was dark, if they'd even need them.

Delano nodded. "Alright, let's go hunt." This time he scanned the horizon more carefully, looking for some pray to get. It didn't help that they were amateur hunters at best, but right now they needed the food, and they had no other choice as to how to get it. But with two of them, it should be easier to get something. Or so Delano hoped.

"Look, over there!" Delano pointed with a paw as some grazing gazelle. "We should be able to at least get one of those. What do you think? Can we manage that?" He looked at Muroki, waiting for an answer. Furthermore, the gazelle posed a lesser risk to getting injured in the hunt, something they couldn't afford under any circumstances.

Muroki looked at the gazelle Delano was pointing at. If they conserved the meat on the one they caught, they should have just enough for a satisfying meal in the morning. "We have a bigger chance if we work together. I'll go to the other side and chase one towards you, and you'll tackle it." with that, he began making his way to the other side of the unsuspecting group of gazelle. Once he was there, he waited a few moments just in case Delano wasn't ready yet before picking a gazelle and chasing it in his brother's direction.

Delano nodded and also slipped away into the grass. He eyes the gazelle wearily, knowing that one wrong move could alert them of their presence and ruin the hunt before it even can start. He picked a good spot and waited for Muroki to make his move. His brother had also stealthily got close to the gazelles and after a few moments, took off after one.

Just as they had wanted, the gazelle ran away from Muroki in fright right into Delano. As it was passing him, Delano sprang up and matched its speed. He pounced on it, and with some effort, managed to bring it to the ground. But as the gazelle they caught panicked and tried to run, Delano found it impossible to grab its neck from where he was at. now he hoped that Muroki will run over and help before he would be forced to let go.

Despite the fact that Delano had already tackled the gazelle to the ground, Muroki continued running just in case his would need his help. He was lucky to have done so, because as he drew closer he could see that his brother was in no position to go for the gazelle's neck without risking releasing his grip. Muroki however was on his feet, and simply ran over to where the gazelle's neck was as it struggled, before sinking his teeth in it's throat. The gazelle struggled a little more but eventually it was still.
