"It wouldn't be right to let our brothers' memory fade completely, Nuka. We can't forget our family. Well, Zira wasn't our family. Forget her." She looked at Kovu and slowly sad down on her haunches. "I.." She looked away, then back at Kovu. "I wanted to ask you if I could spend time with Nuka when he's old enough to leave Jasmines' side. And Kopa. Both of them."

Kovu laughed. "Of course I'll spend time with my sons. They won't be another Mufasa and Scar. I'll see to that," he stated.

"No," she said softly, "I meant, can I spend time with them? I want to be a good aunt to the boys. Spend time with them. Show them around sometimes. Just, get to know them and pay attention to them."

Kovu smiled. "Of course, Vitani. It would be wrong for me to keep them from you. When they're old enough, just ask to see them and I will allow it. I'm sure you'll be the best aunt to them," he said.

Vitani smiled and leaned forward, nuzzling her brother. "I doubt it," she said. "They still have Kiara as well, and she's much sweeter than I am." She chuckled, leaning against Hakara, her head resting on his mane gently.

Kovu nodded. "I understand, Vitani, but they need to know all the members of their family and not get attached to just one family member. It is better for them that way," he said.

Grinning, Vitani decided to take advantage of the moment. "Then, how will I be the best aunt if they need not favor one over the other?" She asked, smirking.

Kovu only laughed. "All right, Vitani, you've got me," he said.

Vitani smiled. "I win again," she stated simply. She turned proudly to Hakara and nuzzled him. "Didn't I win?"
