"I don't think so," Delano replied. "If they were hanging around, we would have seen them." To prove his point, he looked around, but only saw the rest of the group walking away. "The trainer said that the scratches were a warning. I don't know how exactly, but he knew what they were..." He stopped talking for a while. "What I think happened is that the lion got killed, the waning scratched, and whoever did this ran away."

He got up off the ground and walked back to the body. "What if the warning was made farther from the border so that it would be seen first?" He asked Muroki. "And if nothing like this was done before, I really think that whoever was responsible really ran away. I don't think that that they wanted to stick around and get caught." He looked around again. Sure, he didn't see anyone else, but they could be hiding. "But I might be wrong." He concluded.

Delano again thought about what Muroki had said about their parents. That they wouldn't have wanted them to go and get revenge. He also suspected that Muroki also wanted to settle down and not do anything crazy. It was mostly becasue of Delano that Muroki was here with him anyways. "Hey, Muroki..." Delano said after a while, "I've just been thinking... Well, maybe we can go back to Kasi and the lionesses after this. Only help out if things really turn bad, or we are specifically asked to help..." What he really wanted to do though was to finally give Muroki a chance do something of his own.

Muroki was silent the entire time. He was a little surprised about his brother's last statement. He felt like saying that from the first moment they started this, but he didn't because he didn't want Delano to go out there on his own. "I was thinking the same thing the entire time... I just knew that I couldn't let you do it alone." to be honest it was more because of that and less because of getting back at who killed their parents.

Delano smiled slightly. "Alright, we'll do that then..." He didn't really want to abandon his personal quest to find out what had happened, but Muroki had made him realize differently. For now, he would slow down and go back to Kasi. He knew that Muroki will be with him if he ever wanted to leave, but for now, Delano didn't want to force his brother against his will. Nor did he want them to go on for their separate ways. Not yet, at any rate.

He gave one last look at the dead body before turning back to the group. Delano was shocked at how far away the others were. He sighed and began to walk towards the group. "Come on, Muroki. Let's go finish this." Because whatever they would do in the future, right now they had to complete the training.

As they walked to catch up, Delano looked at the sunset. A gentle wind blew in from the prides area, and somehow, he for once felt an unusual calm. He smiled and continued walking, feeling more content than he had for days.

Muroki sighed as he too caught sight of the group. He wasn't too surprised that the trainer decided to not wait for them, but at least the group was walking and not running like a few days ago. "Yeah, I'm right behind you." if they walked a little faster than they have so far they should catch up to them in a few minutes. After today they should be done with the program, and Muroki wasn't sure of how the others will react to him and his brother when they came back. The only thing he could expect was Kasi's shock upon seeing that they were still alive.

Walking quicker, Delano and Muroki were able to catch up to the rest of the group. Sort of. The trainer was waiting for them, but he motioned at another clearing where the others were already resting at. "You're late," was all he told them as Delano and Muroki walked by.

The brothers reached the clearing and Delano lay down near the edge close to Muroki. He ignored the stares they got. He didn't even have to wonder about the reason. H and Muroki just arrived late. The others were wondering what was up with the brothers by now.

The trainer walked up to the front of the clearing and cleared his throat. "I know all of you are wondering what the body back there was," he said. "And while I don't know exactly myself, there is something that you do need to know." He paused a little. "Our lands are different. We have many prides united to work as one large Pride in a large area. Many lions in these prides are different, and sometimes hostilities flare up. But for the most part, they are few and minor." He again waited a little while for effect. "But some fear this system. And in their fear, they lash out violently. This is what you are learning to prevent. Because once you finish your training, these lads will trust you to prevent more from dying needlessly." Finished, the trainer walked away.

Delano lay his head down, wanting to get some sleep. "He didn't mention the warning," he told Muroki softly so that others won't hear them. "Why would he hide it?"

Muroki ignored the trainer's comment about them being late. Not only he didn't care, but it was also the last day or the day before the last day, so getting kicked out now wouldn't really matter to either him or his brother. He also ignored the way the others were staring at them, not caring about whatever gossip that was going on about him and or Delano. What the trainer explained about those who fear the system didn't appeal to him either. He, Delano and their parents were not a part of any system. They were killed as a result of absolutely nothing, and therefor Muroki found what the trainer said in that regard pointless.

As the trainer finally finished talking and walked away, Muroki also lay down and rested his head on his paws, not really tired as a result of physical activity but more because he was just feeling mentally tired. Looking at his brother, he too tried to figure out why the trainer did show and explain the warning to him and his brother but not to the others. "I guess if he did then most of us would have decided to drop out. Maybe they don't want anyone dropping out? I mean, think about it, someone has to do this." that still didn't explain why the trainer did decide to explain it to Muroki and Delano, but to Muroki it seemed like the trainer was still trying to convince the two of them to drop out and go home.

Delano grunted slightly. "And yet he bothered to tell us...." He muttered. "I don't like this, Muroki. So many things seem to be hidden. It's like they know what's going on, but are refusing to explain to anyone else." He opened his eyes slightly. "What are they playing at, anyways? If we are here to stop the killing, how are we supposed to do so unless we know what's going on?"

He closed his eyes again, feeling confused as ever. The unanswered questions filled his mind, and he was growing sick of them. Rolling over, he closed his eyes, wanting to fall asleep. Soon enough they will finish, and they will go back to Kasi. After that, Delano can figure out what he will do.

Muroki decided to tell his brother what he was thinking. "I think he didn't tell them because he doesn't want them to be too scared. As for us, well... If you ask me he's still trying to get us to drop out. That's the best explanation I can come up with..." he said, closing his eyes without saying anything in response to his brother's other question. As he lay there he began thinking about what they should do once they were done here and once they were back where the pride was staying.

He wasn't sure about Delano, but he really wanted to talk to Umeme and see her again. Even though it would probably end up at nothing but a simple conversation, he wanted to see her and hear her voice again. He couldn't stop thinking about the night where she fell asleep next to him by accident. He was unable to think of a single night in which he slept half as well as he had that night with her close to him.

Even with is eyes still closed, Delano smiled slightly. In a way, it was kind of funny how the trainer still acted like he wanted them to fail, even after they showed him time and time again that they will not quit. And now, near the end of the training, he still didn't exactly give up on trying to get them to give up. "Guess he simply got used to it," Delano muttered, "Still wants to quit."

He yawned and moved a bit to get comfortable. Soon enough, he fell asleep.

Muroki nodded, "Well, we wont quit and he wont quit trying to convince us to quit." he said with a slight chuckle. He continued lying there for a few more minutes, trying to figure out what exactly was the trainer planning for the last day in the program. He wouldn't be surprised if whatever he had in mind also included something that only Muroki and Delano would have to do. However he decided that whatever it was going to be, they were going to deal with it just like they've dealt with everything else. He closed his eyes and also went to sleep.
