As Jasmine got closer to the hunting ground her heart beatted stronger as she could feel the blood pulsing threw her veins, she lowered herself to the ground and became at one with her suroundings, she slowley extracted her paws and waited for her prey.

Kiara looked at Haij "she is one scarey lioness" she told him' she was rather embarrassed that he had seen her scared like that as Vitani is the only one she is actually afraid of

"Her attempt to scare others doesn't affect me," he told the Princess as they were walking towards Pride Rock. "...Okay, maybe a little."

Vitani grinned softly and lowered herself to the ground, her ears back and claws extended. "Lets get some food," she hissed softly, looking at Jasmine. "Get something to eat. I'm starving." She crept off silently, flanking around to the edge of the small area. She spotted a gazelle and smirked, getting closer. With one strong leap, she grunted and landed on the back of the Gazelle. Deftly, she snapped its neck with a growl and jumped off, watching it fall to the ground. "Easy pickings, these stupid things," she chuckled. The blood that had rushed to her ears slowly started to fade as she drug the carcass back to the hill where Jasmine and she had split up.

Jasmine looked at the gazelle that Vitani dragged back "you really need to start giving ma a chance" she laughed, her sister-in-law was a great huntress and she always made the first and quickest kill.

Kiara laughed at Haij's comment, she walked over and nuzzled him "thanks for sticking up for me back their" she thanked him

He nuzzled her gently. "No problem." He looked at her, smiling softly. "Oh yeah.. I needed to talk to Kovu about something."

Vitani grinned up at Jasmine, blood covering some of her muzzle. "And you need to learn to strike faster," she joked, shoving Jasmine lightly. She then chuckled and started dragging the Gazelle back to the Den. "I'll see you back at Pride Rock," she said.

A little while later, she padded up to Pride Rock and glimpsed Kiara with Haij. She sighed inwardly, groaning. "I'll never fall head over paws for a lion like that," she said, growling. "Love makes you weak." She said it loud enough so that the two of them could hear it, and she didn't care.

Haij looked back at Vitani. "No wonder you're cranky," he said in a joking matter. "By the way, if love makes you weak, then what about your family? Don't you 'love' them?"

Kiara sighed "just ignore her" she told him, she wasn't in love, well at least she didn't think she was or she was just telling herself she wasn't, she did really like Haij but she didn't love him "or do I" she thought to herself

Vitani dropped the Gazelle at Kiara and Haij's paws and stepped back, bowing her head in a mocking manner. "For you, my Princess, and sister." She then turned her head and faced Haij. "Love makes you weak, because at the decisive moment, if your 'love' is at stake, you will give your life for that. If that love is captured, you throw out all sense of reason to save it. I've never loved anyone. I have a sense of family, yes, but I don't love." She turned to face Kiara, then back to Haij. "I'll fight for Kiara, because she is my sister, and for Kovu, for he is my brother, and for the rest of everyone here, because it is my duty, and because they are family." She shook her head and padded away a short distance, sitting down with a sigh. "Love," she said softly, "Isn't for me. What do I love? The thrill of a fight? No one loves a violent lioness like me. They just want them dead."

Kiara heard Vitani's comment and padded over to her side "that's not true Tani, we might not like each other but I still love you, you are family and nobody here wants you dead, we all love you" Kiara told her with a reassuring smile
