Time Period The Lion King Was Likely Set In?

I think the whole Hercules wearing Scar's skin is a joke, with the hyenas basically eating him alive I wouldn't think there'd be anything left of him for Hercules to actually wear xD
I have no idea what time period TLK could possibly have been set in. The animals didn't appear to have had any contact with humans which could indicate it taking place waaay back in the day, but I don't know.
I'm never going back
Hercules (in the Disney film, of course) is wearing Scar's dead body
I didn't know that. Cool! :glee:

OK, but back to topic now. When it was set? Probably during a time when it existed anteaters in Africa. And since, as far as I'm concerned, it never has been any anteaters living in Africa (correct me if I'm wrong!), it must mean The Lion King is set in the future... or something... :umm:

Like a lot of people say, 1994.
I haven't really thought about that though

I think those anteaters seen in "I Just Can't Wait to be King" sequence were meant to be aardvarks, which do live in Africa. Aardvarks and anteaters look very similiar, though.
