Kuva shrieked as she was taken underwater and pushed herself upright, her eyes wide. "Where did that come from?!" she exclaimed, splashing him with a laugh. She smiled and motioned towards him with a paw. "If you were a very bad lion," she pointed out, "you would have kept me underwater. You would have taken advantage of my vulnerability and either drowned me or.. otherwise." She looked away at that thought, then looked back at him. "You arent a bad lion," she finished, and poked him in the side with a paw. "The water isn't so bad once you get used to it, is it now?" She giggled and floated around him a few times, spinning long, slow circles. She came to a stop and looked at him again. "So, Guerra," she said with a grin, "how does it feel to be able to relax for once? To be able to enjoy yourself?" She turned her head slightly and said, "Life isn't all about conflict. There are some things worth fighting for without violence. Some things are worth peace."

She stared up at the stars and sighed. Suddenly, she tensed as she saw a certain star off to the east twinkle. She quickly averted her eyes and stared at the water uncomfortably. "There has been... only one lion I ever cared for. His name was Usafi." She sighed, looking at Guerra, and attempted to hide the tears that were slowly welling up in her eyes. "He died... he died protecting me from the pride before last. He was the closest thing I've ever had to a father... brother... anything." She shook her head again and submerged her head halfway, trying to hide the tears as they slowly slid out of her eyes. She'd thought of him as more than a brother or a friend at one point, but before she had been able to express any of it, he had died so she could live. "I'm sorry, Guerra," she said, floating away a little bit, spacing herself from him. "I'm not trying to make you feel bad for me. If you wish, I can just go away to the dens and find a place of solitude to sleep."

Danivu purred in response and looked at his mate, nuzzling her. "If you're talking about that 'punishment' from earlier, I think you should know I've been a very bad kitty." He smirked and nuzzled her once more, sliding closer to her...

Guerra wasn't sure how to handle Kuva's tears and the big lion nudged her onto land. He pulled himself from the watering hole and gave his waterlogged mane a good shake. When he finished he opened an eye to see if Kuva had stopped crying, he rubbed the back of his head uneasily. "Look Kuva, I'll walk you to your den. Tomorrow we will speak to Felix and find out his answer." he muttered softly. He stood to his paws and took the lead, he checked back over his shoulder once in a while to make sure, Kuva was still following him.

As they reached Pride rock Guerra slowed down and walked beside Kuva, "I'm sorry about your brother. I lost my family a terrible way as well, but the past is the past for a reason." Guerra said sternly as he paused in front of Kuva's new den. "You'll be sleeping here, and tomorrow I will come and get you." he added, turning his back to leap up to his den. He stopped outside of his den and looked down at Kuva, a sigh escaping his muzzle as he went to sleep. He wasn't sure what to say to her, and he wasn't sure if he should say anything at all.

Kuva slowly opened her eyes, momentarily dazzled by the bright light that flooded her vision. She blinked a few times as her eyes adjusted, and she realized she was in a small den. She focused on the bright portal of light and the outside world slowly shifted into clarity. The still unfamiliar overcast skies of this prides' lands were still there, ever present it seemed. She shook her head and stretched, slowly padding outside. She yawned and gazed up, then took a few steps, trying to remember her way towards the den of the kind lioness who had talked with her yesterday. Tenatively, she picked her way around and finally found where she wanted to go. She peered slowly inside and saw the pair sleeping curled up against each other. She smiled a bit softly, then cocked her head. Where was that cub? Then she shook her head and turned to go. It was none of her business. She turned and halted, face to face with a young, hardened but cute face. She stiffled a yowl of surprise.

"What are you doing here?" Kaput inquired, hopping down from a rock and standing infront of Kuva. Now that he wasn't tired, he was arrogant as ever. He smirked and prodded her chest softly, mistakingly brushing her scar. She whimpered and backed up slowly outside of the den, but Kaput followed her, thinking himself intimidating. "Whats wrong, Kuva? You afraid of me?" He smirked and took a leap forward, landing next to her, and smiled smugly. "Shouldn't you be up in your den still? I didn't know you had permission to leave yet."

Kuva's head cocked to the side as she sat down outside. "What do you mean, permission?" she asked warily, unsure of what this cub meant. Kaput sat infront of her with another smile. "You know," he said. "You're an outsider. A rogue. You're being watched, so you need to be escourted. I dont know by whom, but, someone should have been assigned to you." He flicked his tail, glancing around. "So," he said, trailing off as his tough-lion attitude faded, "Like, what do you like to do for fun?" Kuva smiled and prodded Kaput back where he had prodded her and then sighed. "I like to do a lot of things, but I dont think I'll be able to do any of them here."

Just as Kaput was about to speak, he felt himself being picked up and his mouth locked closed. His instinct bore him one word. Father. He turned his head and looked up to see a very tired looking Danivu holding him by the scruff. "What do you think you're doing out here alone, Kaput?" Danivu inquired, having not seen Kuva yet. "You know better than to wander without permission. Wandering bears problems. Problems need to be answered." He shook his head. Kaput protested, looking up sadly, then back at Kuva. "I'm not here alone," he said, motioning for Kuva.

Kuva sat up slowly and looked at Danivu, bowing her head. "Good morning, sir," she said with a smile. "I'm sorry I got you in trouble, Kaput. I'll take whatever punishment is needed." She looked up at Danivu. It was, after all, her fault he was in trouble. Danivu grunted and set Kaput down before turning around with a low growl. "Do as you wish," he said, and returned to Jua's side, curling up once more.

"Someone's a little grouchy in the morning," Kuva observed with a silent smile. "Your father really seems to care about you, kid. You're lucky." She got up and turned away, starting to pick her way up to her den. "I'll see you around a little later," she said softly before jumping up and landing at the entrance to her den. Unbeknownst to her, Kaput was following her again. As she curled up in the rear of her den, Kaput curled up near the entrance with a smile. He didn't know why, but he just felt at home near this lioness. He closed his eyes and rested his head on his paws, quickly falling asleep. Kuva, on the other hand, merely stared out the den, curled up, and sighed.

[Songo]

The midday breeze blew into Guerra's den and it caused him to stir slowly, his green eyes popped open. He just remembered that he had to watch over Kuva, taking another deep breath Guerra pulled himself to his paws. He stretched forward stretching out his muscles, and his jowls opened wide as he let out a yawn. Guerra quietly hopped down a few ledges to check on Kuva and he noticed Kaput outside the den, "Kaput, What are you doing here? Go back home!" he said with a loud growl. He nudged the cub to move, but Kaput remained seated. Letting out a grunt Guerra grabbed Kaput by the scruff and hopped down a ledge setting him in front of his den, "You know you aren't allowed to travel far when your mother and father are asleep." he said, scolding Kaput slightly.


Shaking his muzzle he hopped back up to Kuva's den and walked in slowly, his green eyes meeting her own gaze. "Come on, Lets go talk to Felix." he said in a low tone. He turned his back and headed out of the den, checking to make sure Kuva was close by. He lead her up to the top of Pride rock where Felix slept and he paused out front of his King's den, "King, I have Kuva here to see you." he called into the darkness, he knew Felix was awake.

Giza was already out patrolling the lands early in the morning, but now she was relaxing on a rock. It seemed everyone was still asleep but her own vision caught Guerra leading the new kitty up to Felix's den. She let out a growl of distaste.

Jua heard chatter outside the den and her ears twitched slowly atop of her head, she nuzzled Danivu's neck softly. "We need to get up..." she groaned, stretching forward a bit. Her pale blue eyes gazed around for Kaput, and she noticed his figure outside the den, "Kaput, Come on. Your father is taking you pouncing today, while I have a word with Kuva." she said with a grin. Waiting a moment she turned back to Danivu and noticed him sleeping still, she leaned down and licked his muzzle a couple times lovingly. Her muzzle lips passed by his ear, "Last night, should happen more often. But now its time to be a daddy." she said teasing him with another lick on his muzzle.

[Applejack]

Kuva peered into Felix's den slowly and curiously. She didn't know why, but she felt an air of unease, fear, and discomfort coming from inside the den. She ducked her head lower and padded slowly into the den behind Guerra. She half hid behind him, her confidence gone in just a few moments. She figured she'd let Guerra do the speaking. She tried to appear confident and stood up with a small, nervous smile on her muzzle. "Good morning, Sir," she said, bowing down low in front of him.

Danivu stirred softly and smiled at Jua, purring tiredly. "I don't have to be a daddy for a few months," he murmered, not understanding what she'd said. Then, realizing what she meant, he quickly sat up , straightening himself. "Oh, right," he said, a tad bit embarassed. He padded up to Kaput after licking Jua goodbye and motioned for him to follow. Silently, he slid out of the den with Kaput at his paws and padded off into the grasslands with a smile. Today, Kaput would learn how to hunt. He would start to learn to take his responsibilites.

[Songo]

Felix was lounging in his den the usual way and at the sound of Guerra's voice he stood up to his hinds. His smirked at Guerra, "Good Guerra you are dismissed." he said, motioning the lion with his paw.

"Thank you." Guerra said turning his back to leave. His green eyes looked to Kuva and he quickly looked away, and he kept moving forward to wait at the bottom of Pride rock. He noticed Giza relaxing on a rock and he snorted to her, "Always working hard.." he growled.

Giza lifted her head lazily, "Shut up..wheres your new pet?" she hissed.

Jua came from the den and she saw Guerra, "Oh Kuva is talking to Felix?" she whispered. A bit of worry flickered through her pale eyes as she looked to Guerra, and then looked up to Pride rock.

"Yes." Guerra said sternly.


"Good morning. What is your name miss?" Felix said softly. He motioned for Kuva to come closer to the middle of his den, he stood to his paws and stepped back. "I am King Felix, ruler of these lands. I see you've met most of my Pride." he said sternly. His yellow eyes flickered over Kuva's pale fur and he let out a low growl. "So do you have any requests? Anything you'd like to say?" he said, his yellow eyes peering into her eyes.

[Applejack]

Kuva sat down slowly in the center of Felix's den with a shaky sigh. "I am called Kuva, King Felix," she said slowly, not meeting his eyes. She nodded her head once. "You could say I had a close encounter with death, thanks to Giza." She sighed and lowered her head slowly. "Requests.." she trailed off in thought. "I believe that your pride is one of strength and integrity," she began, deep in thought. "I can see that you value strength more than wisdom, and I would like to offer my services to you." She managed to look up and met Felix's eyes. Instantly, she regretted it. His eyes burned with what seemed to be a lust for war and battle.

"I may not be much of a fighter," she said, "I abhor violence to the upmost, but I am great with cubs, as well as negotiating. I can offer my services elsewhere, aside from battle. I make a good cub sitter, and I can always find reason in an arguement." She looked away, towards the outside, then back at Felix, unsure what else to say.

[Songo]

Felix let a chuckle escape his muzzle lips as Kuva talked, he had no interest in her 'words of peace'. But he enjoyed looking at this lioness she was delicate and it made him want to be rough on her and to her. "Well Kuva, you can stay. But there is a few things that need to be done." he said simply. His yellow eyes flickered with mischievousness and he stepped in front of the entrance to his den. He stepped closer to her lean body and he growled slightly as his muzzle reached her. "If you are caught spying and I see you leave this land. One of my followers will kill you." he said sternly. He kept stepping closer to her small body so she was backing up near the stone wall. "Second, you will help with hunting and watching Kaput. Jua can help Danivu and you can watch over the dens." he said with a smirk.

He paused and his mighty body stood over her, "Also, You will have to practice fighting a bit. I need to know you can defend my land." he said coldly. His yellow eyes looked down on her, "Are these a few rules you can follow?"

Guerra looked over at Jua, "Where is Danivu at?" he asked standing to his paws looking out into the lands.

"He took Kaput pouncing. Giza its almost mid day, could you go catch us some lunch. Be a dear." Jua said with a snicker. Even though Giza could fight, Jua's rank was higher then her.

Giza rolled her green eyes and jumped down from her rock, "Pitty, I wanted to see what the King would do to Guerra's pet...I hope he has fun." she said with an evil snicker. "Lionesses like her don't last long, she can't even defend herself." she growled, turning her back to leave.

"We should say the same about you." Jua snapped annoyed as she reclined to her hinds. She watched Giza disappear into the tall grass, and she turned her attention back to Guerra. "Do you think Kuva is okay? Shes been up there awfully long." she muttered with a worried tone.

Guerra shrugged his shoulders and looked up at Felix's den, "What do you want me to do?" he grunted.

[Applejack]

Kuva whimpered slightly, nodding. She really didn't feel comfortable with Felix being this close, especially with the look he held in his eyes. Nonetheless, she held her ground. "I think that those rules seem to be fair enough," she said, her voice shaking. "Is.. there anything else I can do for you, King Felix?" She pressed herself back against the wall and looked up at Felix, who loomed over her. Inside, she was screaming, but on the outside, she merely shook, trying to hold together her composure. Would he let her leave?

Danivu grinned and lay down in the center of a patch of grass, seemingly unaware. As his son attempted to creep around, Danivu's grin widened. His son was almost ready. His pawsteps needed a little more work; they were still a little loud, but he didn't rustle the grass anymore, and he managed to keep low. Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted as the full force of a cub slammed into him, knocking him to the ground with a loud "oof". Danivu smiled and got up slowly, nodding to Kaput. "I think you've got it," he said. "Lets go back and show your mother!" Kaput nodded in agreement and trotted behind Danivu, attempting to keep his pace as the two headed back for the dens.

[Songo]

Felix smirked and nodded, "Good glad we could come to common ground." he said with a grunt of his own. His yellow eyes flickered at her next question, "Well..." Felix growled loudly. His massive body inched closer to Kuva and his paws raised up onto the stone wall, and his claws dug into them for help. He had her trapped and a smirk crossed his muzzle lips, "You see such a pretty thing like you, rarely passes by. I am looking for a new Queen...Kuva." he said letting out a deep growl. A rough rugged purr slipped from his muzzle lips, and his hot breath fell by Kuva's neck.

Guerra sighed a bit and stood to his paws, he padded over to the dens. "Damatu...Felix needs to see you now." he growled. He quickly padded back towards Jua and reclined to his hinds, a small smirk on his muzzle. "Damatu, she will check it out for us." he chuckled.

Jua's eyebrow raised and she smiled, "Guerra, I didn't know you had it in you." she said with a chuckle.
