Age Differences - Kovu and Kiara

I think Kovu is almost a year older than Kiara. They appear to be the same age but I guess that's just one of about 100 errors Disney made in this movie XD

I'm not sure. Maybe she was pregnant with Kovu when he exiled her. But then again, there were probably at least a few years between the movies, with chunky Simba and mellow Nala. I guess its possible that Kovu was much older than Kiara, and he was just small as a cub. it would explain the tuft of hair.

Although I know you're not sure, but, it really doesn't make sense for Zira to be pregnant with Kovu by the time they were exiled because Zira stated in the film that Scar hand-chosen Kovu, which Scar had to do by the time Kovu was born.

Lastly, there is no year-gap between the movies because Simba's Pride filmmakers stated Kiara is the cub at the end of the first movie so that means Kiara is "Fluffy" (the jokename of the cub at the end of the first movie). So, Fluffy and Kiara's presentation are one and the same despite the differences between how they were played out.

Overall, I don't think it makes a lot of sense concerning their age difference. Again, it was probably poor planning and script-writing; I think that, unfortunately, a lot of that can be attributed to SP. Don't get me wrong, though - I really love SP all the same. =3 I think it's pretty obvious that, in the film, Kiara and Kovu are supposed to be about the same age, but with the theories posted it still doesn't quite correlate correctly with the timeline. I think it's just one of those things that's fun to speculate on but, unfortunately, doesn't make a lot of realistic sense!

So, honestly, I'm not sure...might have just been a mistake concerning their ages. =/ can't be too scandalous in Disney, you know. Not a huge, noticeable age gap.

Also, Zira said that Kovu was the last born, before they were exiled. I think it would of been around a 2 month age gap or something, nothing huge as Ophelia said.

If he was the last born before the exile, then it might actually correlate okay with the timeline... -scratches head-

In my mind, Kovu is definitely older than Kiara. I don't know, really, how to translate this into "lion years", but using human equivelents, I'd say Kiara was probably about equal to an eight-year-old kid when she met Kovu, who I'd place at about the equivelent of an eleven-year-old.

They're the same size, sure, but then, Kovu's been raised in the barren Outlands, whereas Kiara was raised in the bountiful Pridelands. I think it's pretty plausible that, despite Kovu being a few "years" older, they'd be about the same size.

People need to stop and THINK for a second lol. Yes Kiara was the cub at the end of TLK. Kovu isn't too much older than Kiara, but he was born before Scar died. If he wasn't born yet, Scar wouldn't have been able to hand choose him. After Scars death all the lionesses and lions who supported him were exiled blah blah blah.

Now we all know it's just a movie. But if you think about it in real time, then Kovu is more than a couple months older than Kiara. After Simba took over as rightful king, the Pridelands were A MESS. Then suddenly they were perfect and beautiful. Grass, trees, waterhole, and all the animals came back. That doesn't happen in a day, week, or even a few months. But who really cares, it's a cartoon >.< Lol
