It had taken her quite some time but Kiara had finally managed to ease her mother’s troubles as best she could. The pair of lionesses had been talking to one another for what felt like forever. Now, with her mother’s worries at ease for the mean time, Kiara emerged from the main den and started to make her way down the slope leading into The Grasslands but halted in her tracks as two familiar looking figures caught her attention. Smiling to herself, Kiara made her way back up the slope and onto the promontory of Pride Rock. Not wishing to scare her mate, and more importantly, Taraji, who was seated comfortably atop Kovu, Kiara made her presence known in a casual way as she spoke to her mate.
”Couldn’t wait for me to get back, so you came looking for me, huh Honey?” Kiara stated in a playful fashion, fluttering her eye lids in a loving way.
Turning her attention towards Taraji, who seemed to be in quite the high spirits, Kiara spoke affectionately towards the energetic cub.
”Looks like you haven’t gotten bored with Daddy yet, hmm Cutie? Well, Mommy has to do one more thing and then I’ll be back to spend some more time with you and Daddy, okay?”
Giving Taraji a light lick over her cute little cheek, Kiara returned her gaze back to her mate as she spoke sweetly to him.
”My mom’s doing better now Honey but she asked me to do her one quick favor. I gotta go make sure Laini is comfortable in her new den. This shouldn’t take very long but if something comes up, you can leave Taraji in the care of Nala. Maybe she can get some lunch from her, since I assume you found Cutie some breakfast?”
Unable to resist Kovu’s charming appeal, Kiara found herself leaning in close, planting a sensual kiss upon her mate’s soft muzzle lips before she murmured quietly in his ear.
”You’re doing such a great job with Taraji today Honey. I knew you’d be the best father ever and I love you so much.”
Presenting one last warm smile to the both of them, Kiara took her leave and bounded off towards the direction of the new den that Laini was assigned to, calling back over her shoulder as she departed.
”I’ll catch up with you in a bit Honey. Be good for Daddy Taraji.”
Leaving the peaceful scene behind her, Kiara made tracks straight for the den that Nala had told her Laini was staying at. Upon arriving however, Kiara spotted no sign of the younger lioness, sparking her curiosity as she thought about where Laini could be at. Slightly recalling the location of the solitary lioness’ previous den, despite the fact that it was quite far from where she was now, knowing that her mother was counting on her to check up on the young lioness, Kiara reluctantly dashed off towards the outskirts of The Pride Lands.
After a brisk run, Kiara finally made it to where the lone den that had once belonged to Laini, stood. Not knowing the full details of why exactly Laini had received a new den, as Nala wasn’t too clear on the specifics of the matter, Kiara simply sat at the entrance of the small abode, waiting for Laini to hopefully show up, as her presence was not apparent in the small den itself. Sensing that the young lioness would return to the place that was most familiar to her, as she herself would probably do the same thing if she were in Laini’s paw prints, the golden furred princess waited quietly as she thought about her family and how badly she wanted to be with them right now, instead of doing pointless favors to check up on someone else.
