Hammy nodded. "I heard about the new competition while allowing myself to be petted at the musher's hangout," he said.

Melony looked curious, "And?"

Hammy sighed. "Well, there's some particularly good teams coming from Anchorage and Fairbanks this year," he said.

Melony looked at him, "Really? Teams are coming all the way to race here?"

Jempa nodded. "Apparently," he said. Hammy smiled. "Well, whatever happens, we'll have fun like we always do," he said.

Melony nodded, "Yeah." she was still a little surprised that teams would travel all the way just to race.

Hammy sat down. "From what I've heard, teams traveling isn't that unusual. During the run to Tolketna, there was a team from Anchorage if I recall correctly. I also heard that some mushers are so devoted to the sport that they'll travel to attend even minor races," he said.

Melony looked kind of surprised, "Wow... That's kind of extreme..."
