They're not releasing them on DVD, they're including TLK 2 and 3 in a boxset, on blu ray.

My niece and I saw it today, other that the rolling clouds from when Mufasa leaves being removed (Like they were in the IMAX version in 2003) everything was the same. The 3D effect is lost on me (something must be different about my eyes), but seeing it on the big screen again was awesome.
^ Watch your language, please.

Anyways, I should be seeing it tomorrow. lol, I don't care if I have to go by myself, I'm still going. <3
Oops, I though there was a filter. I had re-posted this from another message board which is more mature. Sorry about that.

Well, it looks like it was well received. It beat every projection, making almost twice as much as the Number 2 movie for the weekend. $8.8 on Friday, $29.3 Million for the weekend.

I just got back from seeing it. I was so happy and excited. It was EPIC and AWESOME!! I was quoting all of Simba's lines throughout the whole movie. :)

Just saw this movie last night in 3d, and I thought the 3d would be mediocre. :P It was AMAZING just to see it in theaters.

We press play, don't press pause.
Progress, march on.
With the veil over our eyes,
we turn our back on the cause.
'Till the day that my uncles can be united by law,
when kids are walking 'round the hallway plagued by pain in their heart.
A world so hateful some would rather die than be who they are.
And a certificate on paper isn't gonna solve it all,
but it's a good place to start.

I wasn't expecting much out of the 3D myself (I went to see Avatar and Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 3D, the former gave me a migraine and the latter was "meh" at best), but the 3D for me wasn't things jumping off the screen, it added a lot of depth. The sequence in CoL where Zazu flys to Pride Rock it hit me in the chest and it felt like I was flying towards Pride Rock myself.

It was well done, which is something I can't say about any 3D movie I've seen to date.

Got back from seeing it about an hour or 2 ago, and I must say... it was pretty great. Besides the 3D flashing a lot (might of just been the projector), the new high definition transfer looked fantastic. I could see every little detail, and it looked great. A couple of scenes the 3D really popped out, and the theaters sound really made some of the effects and songs amazing. Overall, a really good transfer of an amazing film. I'd recommend it to any true TLK fan.
