Hey, this is a sonnet I worked on for almost an hour. It's aimed for the first movie, for the scene in which Simba comes back to the Pridelands and finds out what happened to his home.
----------
The Return to The Pridelands
As I neared my home; what a horrible sight
Just looking at it filled my body with fright,
In front of me, I saw a barren land
Just like a desert, only without the sand,
Despite the urge, I could not at all defy
The fact that lay there before my eye,
While I was gone my homeland slowly died
How could I have just left it all behind?
Upon moving closer, my body felt cold
I was not aware of what does my future hold,
The wind blew against me as I breathed
Smacking my face as if I should have leaved,
Curse the hell-hound who brought my kingdom into decay
And left not even a plant within miles each way.
