Job Application Form

Postby MrsTimon » September 15th, 2011, 3:50 pm

Hi I'm wondering if anyone can help me out. I''m trying to fill out a job application (To work as a sales person in a clothes shop) but I'm not very good at things like this, I never really know what to say. There's a part where it's asking

the name of school/college
Subjects taken & level
Date Passed
Qualifications

At the qualifications part, do I name the subjects that I passed or is it asking my exam results?

They've also wrote 'Give us an example of when you gave good customer service (describe the situation, what you did and the outcome you achieved. Could be work experiance/hobbies etc)

And also

Give us an example of a time when you worked as part of a team to achieve a goal or a target (Describe what the goal/target was. How you achieved it and what obstacles you encountered if any.)

My previous and main job in the past was a chambermaid, there wasn't much team work involved because we always had our own landing to do. I know you guys can't answer those questions for me but could you maybe give a rough idea as to what you would write? My mind has gone completely blank on those questions. Thanks :)

I dont know how old you are, so this may not be as helpful as it could be but here goes...

Qualifications means it is asking for any qualifications you gained as that institution, including subjects passed and any exam results (though I sometimes do not write all of mine down, at least make sure your impressive ones are there.)

Good customer service example - did your school not make you do work experience yet? Most schools, least in this area force you to do 2 weeks unpaid work experience. Anyway, if so write about that for sure, and if not then it could be something you sold to someone once perhaps. Got it to them on time, made sure they were happy etc (seen a few successful applicants citing Ebay for their example) ^^.
or just write about your previous job, your customer is the owner of the building you were... Maiding... In

Teamwork part - It does not necessarily have to be something you did at work per se, you can use school / College too, or even a sport or hobby.

Its nothing to be worrying about, they just want someone to do the work =P, the interview is where you want to impress them, not so much application =)
