Animal Rights(especially in meat industrial)

I think that humans can be compared to wild animals because that is what we are as a whole. The meat industry has hardly any boundaries and therefore is a "wild". As much as the predators don't think of killing their prey humanely, so does the meat company. We as advocates against animal abuse have hardly any say in what the meat industry does so they, much like wild animals do not consider what the animal may be going through.

To address the animal conscience, that was worded poorly. Its not that I do not agree that it is horrible to disorient the animals with the poor conditions of the meat industry, it's just that if we had the solid research on the animal nervous system and mind, it would be much easier to stop such abuse.

I wish that I could be more of a solid advocate of not abusing animals in the meat industry but the hard truth is that I'm hypocritical. I LOVE eating meat and unfortunately I am receiving a portion of almost every meal of the day through these companies and through animal abuse.

Well, yes, the meat industry is more wild than a zebra :P But people use the 'lions/tigers/seals/whatever kills its prey violently, so who care?" which is what I was tackling.

Stop the abuse by allowing them a good lot of space and cleaning up the place, for starters, no research required :P Often conditions are filthy and even a fish shouldn't have to live in a filthy environment. Even if the animals could not comprehend it, it would still decrease the quality of the meat :yuck:

And apparently most meat is at a very low quality from things I've heard but that's off-topic and needs more research :P

Indeed, so am I. Meat is my favorite food, and not only that my mother buys the food in the house. Last time we went veggie it didn't go so well.

Of course no research is required but unfortunately the meat industry does what saves them money and will most likely not listen to anyone :P. If you go to the door of a major meat company with a 20 page essay on how animals have feelings, their minds won't be changed at all. That is why extensive research will be a surefire way to get laws passed in regards to animal abuse in food production.

And if you want a quick read on fast food production and meat quality, look into Fast Food Nation. It might take you off fast food for a while XD

Yes, I know :nukannoyed: Nuka-annoyed smilie directed at them, not you. Money is what they care about, these people have no hearts. When I watched the documentary it was like I was watching mindless robots programmed to kill :huh9:

I watched Supersize me, which was more than enough, I'll pass on that xD

Wild animals don't consider what pain the animal will go through because they don't understand morality... besides, what choice do they have? They need the animal's meat to survive. I'm pretty sure we could make it without meat for a while and we CAN give them good lives and painless deaths, but of course, the faster way is to mercilessly slaughter them, right? Greedy inhumane companies. >.>

I watched a documentary called "From Farm to Fridge" that Flip mentioned once... I was scarred. For life. Cannot be unseen...

Also, I'm completely anti-fast food. It's seriously unhealthy and besides, you can make such dishes they serve at home which are waaaay healthier.

(Btw, I'm not against eating meat in general. I'm just against the inhumane slaughter of farm animals.)

Wow I just joined and I can't believe how smart all of you are!! I know some people IRL who just love animals and want them to be treated with the same respect as humans: UM HELLOOOOO??!?! They aren't humans!! That's the point and I think that might be why I put them in my mouth!

The only animals I like are lions and that's only when they look just like Kovu!

You guys are really smart though! Why don't people just GET that we have to have meat to live! There is no other way! We are the same as we were 600 years ago when man was created; we were meant to eat meat. Even with all of our research about nutrition, no one has ever found any way to live without eating meat. Vegetarians are really stupid and I think there is no way they can be alive at all (I bet they all have to secretly eat meat).

I'm so happy I found a forum where people aren't stupid and think animals have intrinsic rights!

They should be treated with the same respect as humans, I just don't think they would understand the concept of 'rights' as we know them.
That's really shallow for only liking lions and only those who like Kovu (I've never seen any?)

We don't have to eat meat to live. Man was not created 600 years ago (Who on Earth told you that?!). We've found plenty of ways to live without meat. I'd appreciate if you didn't call veggies stupid, my mother and (now ex) sister-in-law are vegetarians and are perfectly healty. Infact, my sis-in-law has become very healthy since she stopped eating meat.

I'm amazed. I've never seen such an incorrect post in my life. Sorry, but your post is filled with false information. Like Annie said, we weren't made 600 years ago and we don't have to eat meat. Btw, vegetarians don't always do it because they're against animal abuse, they can also do it because they want to live a healthy live and/or dislike meat.

You lost all my respect here. All of it. Besides, no animal looks like Kovu.

Lol you do not care about how an animal feels / is treated as long as you can eat it, and yet the only animal you like is lions, which given the chance and circumstance, would eat you raw, its a bit ironic if you dont mind my saying.

In my opinion animals should be treated nice before we eat them. Not just because I feel sorry for the animals if they wouldn't, but also because I think it's healthier.

And..I believe we humans DO need to eat meat, actually. Of course, you don't necessary have to, to keep being healthy. But imagine if no human would eat animals anymore. Wouldn't there be way too much animals then? You have that problem with some animals already and then some or many of them needs to be killed. I think it would be better if we eat them then instead.
