In Canada, society is becoming more and more multicultural, and with that effect becoming more secular [without religious influence on politics or public service]. In schools, they are banning prayer and in official government buildings its already not allowed to wear any sort of religious symbol [including Hijabs, cross's and other assorted symbolisms].
For your own society's benefit, do you believe that making it more secular will make the country more productive and eliminate common societal ailments [such as crime, disease, poverty etc...].
All invalid arguments will be ignored. If you have no hard evidence to support your view, I will simply ignore it and move onto the one that is rational.
I personally believe making religion a private matter helps society in the long run as it prevents disputes, prevents certain abuses of the law, and allows for expanding horizons in education and medical care.
