I never thought it was disturbing. I cried but I wasn't disturbed.

if there was no death or anything like that in a kids movie, they might as well call The Lion King, The Carebears xD even as little kids, they know that lions are big, loud, mean animals and they want to see and experience something (of course not literally and as gruesome as lions are) that lions do. there NEEDS to be conflict like this in stories or it will fall apart. Disney wants to make movies that adults will also enjoy seeing, and motivate the parents to take their kids to see them. if the parents are bored with the movies then they will be less motivated to take their kids to see them.

I think that it was sad, but not disturbing. That's the thing about villians, they need to do horrible things to prove that they're really bad, but I don't think this would have affected the children.

I watched it when I was young, and I never found it that bad o.e It was depressing when Mufasa died... Never really disturbed me. Or anyone else I know who watched the film when they were younger.

Disney makes everyone undestand that things happen like when Mufasa died Thats gonna happen any way and TLK is basically just
a mixed up version of Hamlet

It didn't bother me when I was little, and what Disney is trying to say is that you have to let go of the past and loved ones who are passed away are there for you.
However I found SP a bit too evil and gory (I closed my eyes for Nuka's death cuz it was scary and Zira's screams and creepy voice bothered me when I was little) for the age range they were looking for.

Man, the Tar Monster from Scooby Doo 2 scared be but nah, not Muffy's death. It probably made kids cry, although half of the younger crowd (3-6) probably didn't understand what was happening too well.

Doesn't bother me. The main purpose is to make clear who's good and who's bad, and you really have to exaggurate things, so the younger audience doesn't get confused. There's so many good guys that's been killed by the villains in previous Disney films, so I don't think anyone really cares even though this specific case is a family matter.

Early in the Film Mufasa explains to Simba that "One day the sun will set on my time here." Simba doesn't quite understand it at the time but it all ties into the circle of life. Yes it is sad and very intense. However I don't think Lion King went beyond what is acceptable in a G rated movie.
