The dogs were allowed to rest as the mushers began to unload the supplies they had brought. Hammy sighed, then looked back at his team. "When we get back to Nome, we need to steer clear of Steele. Our success will surely enrage him," he said.

Melony rolled her eyes, "I know... Man that guy needs a hobby."

Hammy laughed. "He does have a hobby. Unfortunately, it's himself," he said. Jempa looked at Melony. "Well, at least Steele now knows how it feels to be an outcast," he said.

Melony sighed, "That doesn't make him stop what he's doing though, does it?"

Jempa shook his head. "He won't stop until he has gotten his former position back," he said. Hammy looked at Lilly. "Lilly, when we get home, we can continue on with our relationship," he said to her.

Melony smiled and nuzzled Jempa, "Do we have to worry about him now?"

Jempa shook his head. "Not until we get back to Nome," he said, returning the nuzzle. Hammy turned away from Lilly for a moment. "Remember what my grandfather said: Steele is old. He may threaten, but he's nowhere near as effective as he used to be," he said.

Melony looked at Hammy after a few moments, "That is true but he has those morons doing whatever he says." she said, before nuzzling Jempa again.
