Baya watched with a bored expression as Vitani went out for the hunt. To his great joy, she had scared alot of the gazelles into running, making this more then a hunt but also a chase. Baya smirked as he stood and ran past Vitani after given the order to go get something. His ears flexed back, and his claws were extended. This was nothing like hunting rabbits in the desert. The prey was far larger and could do alot more damage to him if he didn't kill it quickly.
He ran alongside one of the gazelle, an older one by the looks of it. His fangs were bared, and his claws were much extended at this point. He snarled as he finally jumped at the gazelle, biting into it's shoulder. He brought it down with a bit of a struggle, and it was flailing about. He placed his paw on its head and bit down on its neck, snapping it with a gruesome crack. The circle of life was complete.
Baya placed his head under the gazelles body, and grunted as he pushed it onto his own back. Dragging it across the floor would just mess up the meat. He began to move slowly after Vitani, panting from the run. His muzzle was covered in the dried blood, a satisfied grin also painted across it.
"Good enough?" Baya asked her in a gruesome way.

Zira pondered it for a moment. If the desert could make such a beast out of the other one, perhaps sending Kovu there wasn't a bad idea. She looked to Kovu, and finally figured he would only die out there. Here, he has supervision and protection. Out there, he was on his own and the risk was far too great. "I don't think the desert can provide the training that I can. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but were you not trained by the other one, hm? I'm sure you would not be here if not for him." Zira pointed out with a sinister grin. "In fact, we could kill you right now, if we had no use of you." Zira said as she laid down in her spot.
