Melony giggled and whispered to Lilly, "You look totally cute together."

Lilly giggled at being called beautiful, "Oh really? Thanks for telling me handsome". She smiled at Melony and whispered back, "Thank you", as the Musher finished up by putting some supplies on the end of the sled.

Melony then asked something she herself didn't even see coming, "Do you think that, um... Me and Jempa... Do you think that will ever work out?" again she whispered, not wanting anybody else beside her friend to hear.

It was now time. All the mushers were ready. Hammy prepared himself. "MUSH!" the musher shouted. Hammy took off running, as did the other teams.

Lilly nodded happily but when she heard the word Mush, she shot off in a bolt of speed, matching Hammy's perfectly.

Melony also broke into a run, emptying her mind from anything that had nothing to do with the race.

Jempa and Samson were running as fast as they could, saying nothing and looking ahead of them.

Balto watched Hammy's team with a proud smile untill they were out of sight. He then headed to where Jenna was so that he could tell her that Lilly was alright and that the race began as planned.

OOC: I'll skip ahead to Rusty Knife checkpoint.

The teams ran for what seemed an eternity. Finally, however, they reached Rusty Knife checkpoint. They entered the area, where tents had been set up. It was here where they would rest, be fed and sleep. The mushers called their teams to a stop.

Melony took in a deep breath once they stopped, trying to catch her breath. "Well..." she said between breathes, "So far so good." their team was doing more than well.
