The scorched sands of the desert shifted whilst two figures made their way across it. Soft winds blew, kicking the sand up and making the journey a tad bit more difficult for the lion and the lioness that were slowly but surely making their way across. One of them was Baya,a lion that was so used to the difficulties of the desert it did not even slightly phase him. The other, a young adult lioness by the name of Tupa, Baya's student and adopted daughter. They were on their way through the desert this fine day in search of battle, food and water preferably in the same place.
Though battle was something of an export on the land they ended up in. The sand thinned into a layer of cracked earth. The sky now had clouds to block the heat of the sun, and all around them were gigantic termite mounds. "Baya. I do not think we are in the desert anymore..." Tupa finally spoke, looking around at their surroundings with her magenta eyes. Baya snorted, not giving a reply as he continued walking.
"Don't think we'll find much battle here Baya, we should turn back." Tupa pointed out. Baya smirked.
"I can only imagine what kind of lions would live here. Probably lots of pent up aggression. We'll keep going. If we find nothing, then we'll turn back." Baya suggested, as one strand of his sleek black mane fell over his sandy face. The two walked more and more, until they finally reached a rather large and polluted watering hole. Tupa frowned as she sniffed the water.
"Uh, Baya...this water isn't good for drinking." Tupa warned. Baya didn't listen as he began to drink regardless, not really caring how polluted the water was. Water was water in the desert, and he figured that rule could apply in these lands as well. Baya lifted his muzzle slightly and looked around slowly.
"Do you feel it?" Baya asked silently. Tupa looked confused then she found out what it was. They were being watched.

"Don't see why all three of us need to go on guard duty. Mother always just sends Tani." Nuka murmured bitterly. "Giving me all the sucky jobs." Nuka muttered under his breath.
A young adult Kovu walked alongside his older brother without much of a word. "Well Nuka, see of it as her having some faith in you." Kovu said with a grin at his brother. Vitani, who was also sent on patrol, was walking with them but keeping quiet.
"I just don't see why we gotta patrol. Worst thing out here is pride landers...and I could tear them up all by myself!" Nuka snorted.
"Pfft, I could take on any ROGUE. They aren't a threat either!"
"Didn't mom tell you about rogues? They are alot worse than pride landers..." Kovu pointed out as they slowly made their way to a cliff that over looked the watering hole.
"Rogues can't do much to me either. I was trained by mother too you know." Nuka retorted as he sat by the cliff overlooking the waterhole. Vitani and Kovu did the same. Nuka gazed at the two through squinting.
"HAH! They don't look tough at all! The lioness isn't half bad looking either. The lion though...breh those are some ugly scars." Nuka cackled. Kovu looked a tad bit concerned. Scars meant survived battles. Survived battles meant, big problem for the outlanders. It meant that this lion had experience.
"Tani, any ideas on what to do? Do we intercept, or wait?" Kovu asked his older half sister.
