[Private ~ ScarGirl99* & Amadeus ~]

The scorched sands of the desert shifted whilst two figures made their way across it. Soft winds blew, kicking the sand up and making the journey a tad bit more difficult for the lion and the lioness that were slowly but surely making their way across. One of them was Baya,a lion that was so used to the difficulties of the desert it did not even slightly phase him. The other, a young adult lioness by the name of Tupa, Baya's student and adopted daughter. They were on their way through the desert this fine day in search of battle, food and water preferably in the same place.

Though battle was something of an export on the land they ended up in. The sand thinned into a layer of cracked earth. The sky now had clouds to block the heat of the sun, and all around them were gigantic termite mounds. "Baya. I do not think we are in the desert anymore..." Tupa finally spoke, looking around at their surroundings with her magenta eyes. Baya snorted, not giving a reply as he continued walking.

"Don't think we'll find much battle here Baya, we should turn back." Tupa pointed out. Baya smirked.

"I can only imagine what kind of lions would live here. Probably lots of pent up aggression. We'll keep going. If we find nothing, then we'll turn back." Baya suggested, as one strand of his sleek black mane fell over his sandy face. The two walked more and more, until they finally reached a rather large and polluted watering hole. Tupa frowned as she sniffed the water.

"Uh, Baya...this water isn't good for drinking." Tupa warned. Baya didn't listen as he began to drink regardless, not really caring how polluted the water was. Water was water in the desert, and he figured that rule could apply in these lands as well. Baya lifted his muzzle slightly and looked around slowly.

"Do you feel it?" Baya asked silently. Tupa looked confused then she found out what it was. They were being watched.

"Don't see why all three of us need to go on guard duty. Mother always just sends Tani." Nuka murmured bitterly. "Giving me all the sucky jobs." Nuka muttered under his breath.

A young adult Kovu walked alongside his older brother without much of a word. "Well Nuka, see of it as her having some faith in you." Kovu said with a grin at his brother. Vitani, who was also sent on patrol, was walking with them but keeping quiet.

"I just don't see why we gotta patrol. Worst thing out here is pride landers...and I could tear them up all by myself!"
Nuka snorted.

"Pfft, I could take on any ROGUE. They aren't a threat either!"

"Didn't mom tell you about rogues? They are alot worse than pride landers..."
Kovu pointed out as they slowly made their way to a cliff that over looked the watering hole.

"Rogues can't do much to me either. I was trained by mother too you know."
Nuka retorted as he sat by the cliff overlooking the waterhole. Vitani and Kovu did the same. Nuka gazed at the two through squinting.

"HAH! They don't look tough at all! The lioness isn't half bad looking either. The lion though...breh those are some ugly scars." Nuka cackled. Kovu looked a tad bit concerned. Scars meant survived battles. Survived battles meant, big problem for the outlanders. It meant that this lion had experience.

"Tani, any ideas on what to do? Do we intercept, or wait?" Kovu asked his older half sister.

Vitani sat next to her brothers and considered. She didn't want to get into trouble with her mother later. Although she wanted to fight, she figured it would be best to take the matter to her mother. As annoying as Nuka could be at times, she didn't want him getting hurt and she certainly couldn't even begin to imagine Zira's reaction if something happened to Kovu.

"I say we wait or tell mother," Vitani said, eying the newcomers with squinting eyes. "The last thing we need is for someone to get hurt and have her yell at us later. Besides, the lion looks like he might have been in a few fights before. Don't get me wrong - I like fighting, but I don't want to fight foolishly. He might have years more experience than us."

"Years of experience, pah! I say we kill them now, and do mother proud!" Nuka said with a smirk as he slowly made his way to a path that led downwards towards the watering hole. He then began to trot down the side of the hill. Perhaps if he killed these rogues, his mother would at least take him a little bit more seriously.

"Nuka! Wait!" Kovu shouted after him, pretty much giving away their position. Zira would not look kindly upon her favorite son now. He padded after his half brother, hoping to either stop him or help him if need be. His eyes locked onto Tupa and Baya. They knew. They knew all along that they were up there. They just chose not to react. Such odd creatures these rogues were. Kovu did not know if their sister would follow, but what he knew for sure, was that Nuka was going to be in deep doo doo one way or another.

Tupa sighed as she saw Nuka coming at the corner of her eye. "They aren't very smart. Do we really have to kill them? I mean...not much of a challenge..." Tupa pointed out. Baya snickered as he licked his muzzle and smiled to expose his large incisors.

"Just because it isn't a challenge doesn't mean we can't have fun with it..." Baya said with a cackle as he tilted his head and slowly turned around to face Nuka, Kovu and Vitani.

"You know this is OUR land right? You are trespassing." Nuka said with a grim look on his face. Baya's smirk did not fade, nor did his cackles.

"You don't look to be very old. Tell me, what drives you to want to die young? Your land? I could kill all three of you right now, and claim it as my own. That's how it runs in the desert, but I'm sure you pampered brats would know nothing of that." Baya growled, his eyes meeting Nuka's.

"Pampered? Buddy, you have no idea what goes on here." Nuka said with a glare.

"Easy Nuka. Look, we don't want to have to force you out, so please just make your way out of here...This will be your only warning." Kovu said in a solemn tone. Baya looked to Tupa and she giggled, holding a paw over her muzzle to stifle it.

"What's so funny, huh?" Nuka said, his eagerness to fight increasing with every passing second. Tupa waved him off with the paw she was covering her muzzle with.

"You are trying to be diplomatic. I find it adorable. How old are you little guy?" Tupa cooed to Kovu, talking to him as if he were an infant or a baby. Kovu sighed as he extended his claws.

"Hold on...are you part of a pride?" Baya asked, his grin fading. He figured that if they were indeed part of a pride, then perhaps he and Tupa could be hired as mercenaries. Until Baya got bored of the pride that is.

"Yeah, why? What's it to you?" Nuka scoffed. Tupa smiled, knowing what her mentor was thinking.

"How about you take us to your leader, hm? We could be of use to you. That, or we could just kill you. Baya's pretty well known in the desert for his compassion. Oh my. Excuse me. Lack of Compassion." Tupa said, correcting herself.

"No way! Not in a million y-" Nuka was quieted down by both Kovu and Vitani's glares.

"I guess its in both our interests to take you to our leader. Come with us. Don't try anything funny." Kovu warned. He nodded to his sister as they slowly circled the two so that they were behind them. This way, they couldn't get away if they DID try something funny.

"Very well. Baya, after you." Tupa said as she stood once more and so did her mentor. They slowly began to make their way towards the main termite den of the outlanders.

"Tani, we are doing the right thing, right? I mean...if mother doesn't approve she'll just dispose of them." Kovu whispered to Vitani.
