Do you prefer to be a lion or a lioness?

Let's just say that you are reincarnated into a lion on the African savanna, what gender will you choose if you have the chance?

As for me, I would prefer to be a lioness. They live a longer and more comfortable life than lions, and they can form lifelong bonds with pride sisters. Lions have to invade a pride, and usually gets beaten up by another invading rouge in the end. The disadvantage would be that I would be weaker than male lions, and I imagine pregnancy and child raising a very boring thing.

LOL jk. But seriously, a male lion gets to be the ruler of an entire pride, and fight with other lions to show who's boss. Plus he gets to laze around while the females do the hunting and gets the biggest share of whatever they catch. It's great to be king lol.

I think you missed an important point. Lions are much more possible to die a violent death. Why there are so many lionesses and so few lions? Because most male lions die before they get a bunch of ladies.

They both live harsh lives. And it's a misconception that male lions are rulers. Lionesses and lions do not have a sovereign, a ruler. They exist together, each vitally important, and play an equally crucial role to the well-being of the pride. It bothers me when people say male lions are lazy, or that male lions have a rougher life than females. Dude... you live in a searing hot landscape with few trees for shade. Ladies hunt dangerous animals and take care of troublesome cubs. Males have to patrol territory for other males and hyenas, and sometimes have to fight for a spot in the pride. Both are susceptible (spell check not available xD) to disease and have to deal with fleas. It's probably not as awesome a life as people make it out to be... poor lions.

Anyways, enough with my rant I'd be a lioness becaues I wouldn't give up being female for anything. I wonder if hunting thrills them? And yeah, like KopaLeo said I'd have my sisters on my side. Sure a male lion usually has another alongside him in the pride but lionesses seem to form stronger bonds.
