Simba's eyes remained locked upon Kivuli's for the longest time. Every speech this banished lion made caused more distress to course through the king's half exhausted body. Even though Kivuli seemed to be unreasoned with, the thought of him doing any sort of physical attack worried him to some degree. He didn't want anything bad to happen within the Pride Lands and most certainly of all, he didn't want his beloved mate to get involve in such a mess, even though she was more capable of handling herself. Still, Simba always thought about Nala throughout each day, worrying about her safety and all. When things fell silent between Kivuli and Nala, Simba's full attention went back to Kivuli before speaking up in a abusive sounding tone.
"Kivuli, even with the mistakes you made in the past, I was still allowing you a second chance to relive a peaceful life. Yet, you're out to seek revenge on me for something meaningless. If you're so desperate of stopping me, you're only going to get yourself physically hurt. Do you honestly think you're capable of handling Nala and myself? It's two against one. Even with your bigger physique, you barley stand a chance." Simba stated, taking one step forward as he took notice that Kivuli was getting closer towards Nala.
"Two years of training for you isn't going to be enough to withstand my power, Kivuli. You should realize that I have more battle experience than you, even Nala." Simba's voice was beginning to sound more irritated, indicating that he was getting fed up with Kivuli's nonsense.
Before things can manifest, Simba's fuzzy orange ears perked up to hear a strange noise coming from a distance. It sounded like a growl of some sort but he wasn't quite sure who or what it was. Guessing that Kivuli probably brought more of his Pride of some sorts, he immediately bared his teeth and took another step forward.
"Did you bring more trouble here, Kivuli? Look, if you're going to threaten the Pride Lands with your Pride of Lions, I won't be giving you another chance. So tell me, are you alone?" He said softly, trying his absolute best to maintain his composure.
As he waited for a response, Simba glanced over to his loving mate and motioned his head in the direction where the strange noise was coming from.
"Sweetie, if you see more lions or lionesses coming our way, I want you to alert the rest of the pride. I'll hold off Kivuli and his little pride if things get out of control. You know I always want what's best for you." Simba smiled warmly, even in tight situations, he couldn't help but show some affection to the only lioness he deeply cared about.
Within the Outlands, Sirom was recollecting himself and let out a low sigh of relief. He wasn't sure where Shani and Skyara were, wondering if they departed together to have a drink at the waterhole or something. Not really thinking of anything by this time, Sirom ventured over to where the big skull of the deceased elephant was. Leaning in to take a peek, the young lion was startled to spot someone in there.
"Hello? Hey... Skyara? Is that you? What are you doing all the way over here?" Sirom asked politely, blinking a few times.
