[Public] The Horizon Is My Home

The Horizon Is My Home

Postby Jaybird » August 22nd, 2011, 4:01 pm

I face the horizon
Everywhere I go.
I face the horizon.
The horizon is my home.

-

I'm interested in starting a small RP, one or two, maybe three depending on how much interest there is, other players. Just to get into the swing of it again, because it's been so long.

There are a couple of ideas I've been toying with, the first person to post can decide which they'd rather do, just to prevent me from having a nervous breakdown from having to decide.

- A pride disbands due to tensions after the old male that led it dies, the story follows the fragmented groups.
- A captive lion/group of captive lions are released into the wild, but how will the other members of the pridelands take to the strange newcomers?
- When the king leaves the pride to fight an old enemy in a distant land, his naive and cowardly brother is left in charge, draining the resources for his own ends, and ruling brutally with his loyal followers. How long can the pride put up with this treatment before something snaps? Yes. I watched Robin Hood last night...
- Any other suggestions you've been wanting to try out?

If you're the first to post, just say which you'd rather do, if you have a link to a character/s you'd like to play, do post it, but I expect you to do an introduction, including description, of the character in your first post when we start anyway, so that's not totally obligatory.

Thanks for having an interest! I look forward to RPing with you guys!

I kind of like the Robin Hood inspired one.

Cool, we can do that, it's not a totally fully formed idea since it only popped into my head last night, any changes/additions you want to make to it?

Not that I can see. However, we'll probably need a hero figure to step in and help the pride.

Just like Robin Hood then :P We could have a band of merry men... merry lions... whatever... We could focus on them, the ones that get caught, the ones that get away etc. The outlaws, bit like the outlanders except the pride are less happy about their banishment.

Sounds good. I could be the hero figure. We just need to figure out a way to make it a bit less like its source material.

Sounds good to me, I'm sure I can whip up a couple of followers, and a selfish prince, since we'll need one of them. And I agree it does need to be a little less Robin Hood-y and a little more original. It also sounds a little bit like when-Scar-ruled-the-Pridelands. Not sure exactly what to change though...

I had another idea:

What if the selfish prince has a lioness that he tasks with bringing the hero before him. Many times she tries, but the two of them develop feelings for one another, feelings that the hero uses to escape at the last minute.

Oh, I like that idea, that's definitely a good story line! You are playing the hero, I assume from your earlier post, yes?

Thanks. I got it from a video game that I play. Yeah, I'll play the hero. I'll just need to think up a name.
