Imvula was the eldest of two cubs, the second dying shortly after birth. She was born in the Outlands just after Kiara's presentation. She is the child of a sinful union between enemies, a leopard and a lioness. However, none of her pride members discovered her mother's dark secret until Imvula started to grow, they just assumed she was a cub with extra spots for camouflage and that they'd fade in time.

As she matured from infant to cub, it was now that Zira noticed just who Imvula's sire was. Those spots didn't fade and they had taken the shape of rosettes. The cub was the most unlion like creature she had ever laid eyes. So Zira confronted Imvula's mother and a fight broke out. Thanda managed to escape, but she was mortally wounded. Imvula was still young but she'd be scarred by it for life. Unfortunately, Zira had followed them. Luck was on Imvula's side that night. Her own father saved her life, but she had lost her mother. Weusi, being unable to take care of a cub, took her to Pride Rock. She was adopted by a lioness that lost her own cub from illness and was happy to raise the little leopon. Her father still came and spent time with her, teaching her how to be leopard, while her adopted mother taught her how the Pride worked.

She had to put up with a lot of stick from the other pride members, mostly due to her original pride. But she never let it get her down. As she grew older, Simba found it difficult to trust her, but she soon proved herself when the battle between the Pridelanders and Outlanders occured. She fought with Simba against her birth pride, and earned his trust. After this, she met Sihle, a wandering male from a Pride far away. They spent time with each other and were eventually mated. They had two cubs together, Akila and Huru. They might have more in the future, who knows?
