Am I the only one that totally loves upendi?

I *really* liked the upendi song! I found it adorable, super cheezy (like an eighties song that's so bad that it's good) and the animations and character designs were different from the rest of the movie, making it seem abit dreamlike, Like they're off in the la-la land of love where everything is surreal. Reminds me of the Bambi scene when Bambi is chasing Falline around and all the sudden he's floating on clouds, bounding though the sky, lost in romance.
I've heard a lot of people say that it doesn't quite "fit" in the movie itself, but I think that's what's so great about it. They could never have even come close to the Simba/Nala romance song scene if they tried to go for that same feel, anything trying to replicate it would have just seemed like a cheap copy.. it seems like they went for something completely different, a more lighthearted fun thing and they totally pulled it off

It was my favorite lion king song ever really, so that's really sayin' something! It's so catchy!! I've got it as my ringtone

I know that quite a few people here also love Upendi, but I am not one of those.

The only song I truly like in SP is "We Are One". I also love "He Lives In You", but that's a Rhythm of The Pridelands song. With Upendi, I don't enjoy the tune that much and the lyrics are... well, they're sung by Rafiki! Another thing is that with most of the SP songs, I don't find them memorable. I will hear them, and five minutes later, forget about them. So in the end, Upendi is not on my "like" list. I don't hate it, but it's simply mediocre.

He Lives in You and My Lullaby are my absolute faves. Upendi is catchy. I like it, but it really is nothing special. And they could've been more creative with the imagery, in my opinion. It's 1,000x better than Love Will Find a Way, IMHO. So it's cute but nothing speical.

Some of the movie got like that lol. But I suppose I like the song itself, for me me though it just couldn't stand up to can you feel the love tonight. Although I'm busiest cuz I looooooove can you feel the love tonight!!

I have always felt that Upendi was to Lion King 2 what I Just Can't Wait To Be King was to Lion King. Not in theme but in flight of fantasy where reality steps back and some odd (not bad) Things happen. I felt that the true Kovu/Kiara love song was Love Will Find A Way (Which played during the end credits like Can You Feel The Love Tonight did in the first movie). As for Upendi itself, I have nothing against the song or the scene, it is not my favorite song in the movie, but it moves the story forward in an important way.

I really disliked Upendi. It's my least favorite song. I think Changa is right, the colors were too bright and it was just too...I don't know...unrealistic maybe?
