Hello members of MLK. I'm making this topic because I really need your support. Today I'm going to my doctor so she can refer me to a therapist to help me with my depression. I know it's dumb to nervous about telling your doctor how you feel but.. I'm SOOO nervous. I really need your support. Thanks! ^^..

Oh, it isn't dumb to be nervous. I was nervous too when I had my therapist for a while. But I didn't have depression, I was having severe panic attacks.

Just tell him how you feel, and if he's a good therapist, he'll help you out a lot. :) Good luck.

Thanks! I'm not getting the therapist yet I just need to go to my doctor and tell her how I feel and she will get me a therapist (Might be a waiting list though). It's still really nervracking. I've wanted a therapist for months but now that I'm getting one, I'm starting to regret it...

Tell him everything you're concerned about, otherwise he'll barely do any good. You have to be really honest to him, even if you're afraid to tell the truth about certain subjects. Hope it all goes well ^^ And don't regret seeing a therapist, people have had their lives changed before.

I'm officially on the waiting list. I went to my doctor and after it I felt so happy. So I am looking foward to seeing a therapist. It will be scary telling a stranger about every bit of your life. But I can handle it. ^^ Thanks Kops. :3

Good luck! Talking to a therapist is definitely a good idea in these types of situation. Just the fact that you're going to see one is a big thing, and pretty courageous if you ask me. Go for it; we're all pulling for you! C:

Honestly. It's totally okay. I go to a therapist about something similar, tell them everything or they can't help you. I know it might feel stupid, like WTF I don't need a therapist. But it's okay that's how I felt. Hey if you need support, Sophie, I'm right here. If you ever need to talk pm me, I won't tell anyone, and I promise I can help you through this, if you need support.

Aw, I know exactly how you feel! *hugs* I've had to see 7 different therapists and 2 dietitians over the last three years (you're probably thinking I'm really screwed up now) and I'll be honest and saw that it wasn't fun and quite stressful. Personally, I didn't find any of the therapists helpful, but after a while, I got a bit more used to going and it wasn't such a big deal. Luckily, I don't have to go anymore, but I certainly remember my first times going. Anyways, I just want to say that as stressful and hard as it seems at the time, you can do it and you'll get through it! I have faith in you. You seem like a strong person. And...if I can do it, then anyone can. xD Good luck and if you ever want to PM me, go right ahead.
