[Maleficent]

Bianca smiled a bit sheepishly, "I didn't get very far. I met a hyena cub, but then he called the adults and father came to rescue me. I could have defeated them though. Why don't hyenas and lions get along anyways?"

Mufasa shrugged. "I don't know. Something about us competing for food and water," he said.

[Maleficent]

"Oh. Want to play?" Bianca asked, rolling around on the grass.

Taka looked thoughtful and murmured, "If father wanted to be a better king, he would think about making an alliance with the hyenas."

Mufasa turned when he heard Taka murmur. "What was that, Taka?" he asked.

[Maleficent]

For some reason, Taka decided to keep his plan to himself. Perhaps his hypothesis about the hyenas could be used to his advantage someday. Clearing his throat, he said simply, "I merely said I felt sorry for those hyenas."

Mufasa shook his head. "I don't. I've heard that they've killed lion cubs," he said.

[Maleficent]

Taka frowned and contradicted, "Lions don't kill hyena cubs?"

[KingKovu44]

Mufasa looked down and shook his head. "I don't think so, but I also heard that the hyenas break the law by hunting for sport," he said.

[Maleficent]

"There's nothing wrong with a little hunting for sport," Taka replied.

Annoyed at being left out at the conversation, Bianca pounced on Mufasa and grinned.

Mufasa frowned. "When I'm king, you won't be doing that," he said.
