"Oh," Taka said, following all this. He looked sad as he said, "But I didn't choose to look this way. It's not my fault I'm different. Is this why he never talks to me or wants anything to do with me?"

Uru shrugged. "Sadly, that's a major part of it. The other part is a horrible thing called favoritism in which one cub is preferred over the other," she said.

[Maleficent]

"Oh. So he'd like Mufasa better even if I looked different," Taka sighed. "It's hopeless."

[KingKovu44]

Uru shook her head and held the cub close. "Listen, your father is a very temperamental lion. Would it help if I talked to him?" she asked.

[Maleficent]

"You don't have to," Taka said, although he automatically felt better since someone was paying attention to him for once. "I don't want him to feel like he has to like me. At least you talk to me."

[KingKovu44]

Uru motioned for Mufasa to join them. "Listen, I love you both equally. In my eyes, you're both great and mighty lions," she said with a smile.

[Maleficent]

Taka smiled until he looked over at Mufasa and noticed, "Mufasa's so much stronger than me though." He pouted slightly.

Uru smiled. "You're strong, Taka. You have the blood of the great King Mohatu in your veins," she said.

[Maleficent]

"I want to be better than him though," Taka said, narrowing his eyes. "I want to be the best king yet."

Mufasa stepped forward. "Taka, how would you like to be next in line to be king?" he asked excitedly.
