A "Trials In The Pridelands" love story about Simba and Nala. No bashing or flaming please.

The Love Of Legend

In the time since they had married, Simba and Nala’s love had become something of a legend amongst the animals of the Pridelands. Not since the early days of Mufasa and Sarabi’s romance had a couple loved each other so strongly. Say what you will about the tenderness of the love of Mufasa and Sarabi, the deep passion of Ahadi and Uru and the sweetness of Shujaa and Sarafina, nothing came close to what Simba and Nala had for each other. As they walked together, Simba began to mentally reflect on his feelings for his love:


Nala

Love of my life

Beauty without equal

Friend for a lifetime

Mother of my cubs

You are a wonder to behold

Out of everything, however,

You will always be

My blue-eyed dream


At the same time, Nala began to do the same:


Simba

My friend since cubhood

Now he is my mate

Handsome beyond words

Brave, kind

Everything a male lion should be

Most of all

He is my love, my king


Their love was immense, so strong that it could never be broken. It was a beautiful love, one that would be remembered for all time. It was truly the love of legend.

I'm somewhat reminded of The Princess Bride here for a moment, but this is a cute story nonetheless. ^^

Thanks, though I've never seen the Princess Bride. Part of it was inspired by the novel of Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, and part of it was inspired by ancient near eastern love literature.

Well, there is this one spot in the book and movie both where the narrator goes to list off all the romances the main pairing is compared to. That's what I meant by my comment. But, still, it is a cute oneshot.

Thanks. By this point in the story, Simba and Nala are older and their cubs, Kopa, Chaka and Kiara, are already adolescents. For me it was a perfect time to show just how close they are.

*smiles* That does sound very sweet. Sometimes the moments that pop up into one's mind are very huggable.

Yeah, the RP that this comes from is like the longest one I've ever done. Simba and Nala fell in love as teens in this version.
