Yes I did read it, and no it did not convince me otherwise. Would you like me to present an example quote?
Yes, My Little Pony is riddled with pink, the leader is a Princess instead of a Queen and there probably aren’t enough boys around to portray a realistic society. These decisions were not entirely up to me. It has been a challenge to balance my personal ideals with my bosses’ needs for toy sales and good ratings.
Now, that tells me that although she did not mean for it to appear to be aimed at girls, the bosses in charge of production have made changes that make it seem so. So yeah, I am not totally convinced what you said is totally true.
Especially since you are not part of the production team for the show, so for all you know, it probably was aimed at young kids and girls, and looking at the demographic of MLK members who are into it would only further justify it.
@ Flip, I thought you really liked FiM?
I really liked Rainbow Dash, but now I see her around pretty much everywhere on the internet and thought "Wow, am I really that sad?" and got rid.
The show was made purely so they could market a new generation of MLP toys to a new generation, because you would think the older fans would have grown up a bit by now. The old toys and shows were for girls, this new set is for girls. That does not mean that a guy can not like it though, by any means. But until someone proves me otherwise, this is nothing but a marketing stab at young girls as far as I am concerned =)
