If Not Scar, Who?

I agree it's not enough evidence, and know that the reason it was in there was to tell viewers that Scar is not Kovu's father. Kovu himself states that Scar wasn't his father later in the film, but by that point, he's falling in love with Kiara, so they needed it stated before that as well.

I personally believe that Scar/Taka was Nuka's father. Nuka resembles Scar in an uncanny way, right down to the naturally lanky build. Zira's neglect of her son led to his scrawny nature, yes, but with him as Scar's original heir also helps explain his jealousy of his half-brother.

I just thought of something. Since Zira obviously loves Scar and would do anything for him, if Nuka was Scar's son, Zira wouldn't be treating Scar's flesh and blood as if he were trash. Stepping on his tail, throwing midway in the air, and overall neglecting him. Sure her full devotion will still be on Kovu, but if I were Zira and Nuka was my follower's son, I would at least give him some respect. Also, note that this would not apply to Simba (Scar's nephew) as in her deluded mind, she has a reason to hate Simba for banishing them to a wasteland.

On top of it was never mentioned in the film, it would be out of character for Zira to treat her follower's son like dirt knowing Zira loves Scar too much. So, Nuka nor Vitani are Scar's cubs.

However, I think of Kovu, Nuka, and Vitani's father as being the original alpha lion for the pride that became the Outsiders. Ever noticed there is a pride of lionesses, but no alpha lion. So, the father got jealous of Zira being around Scar, confronted Scar, and Scar drove him out before Simba returned. *This is my fan theory, by the way*

That is a very good point, but that also makes it very easy to believe that if Scar expressed any disappointment at all in Nuka. Zira would not have hesitated to completely reject Nuka as Scar's heir, and instead keep him around as an errand boy/cannon fodder. To punish him for not being the son Scar wanted.

Ir's Scar, it has to be. Why else would Zira struggle so hard to make him be like Scar?
