The Pride Lands (Amanda, Moka, kovu42)

[Panda-chan]

[Yeah. Sorry I forgot to mention it. She's a princess, and her parents are King Mbwana and Queen Busara of the Desertlands. Uzuri is a few months older than cubby Simba, but she acts like she's years older.]

[Moka]

[ ok ]
"You're welcome, Princess Uzuri." he said. She followed him further. In a little while he asked, "What were you doing so far awa -" Another tremor began. Khali laid down and Uzuri did the same.

[Panda-chan]

Uzuri shook from head to paw even after the tremor was gone. For the first time in her life, she was scared. Nothing ever happened in the Desertlands, and before this earthquake, her life had been about as interesting as a sack of leaves.
"I-I-I have to go back home. My parents must be so worried." she stuttered, making her way shakily to the entrance of the den.

[Moka]

Khali nodded and walked back to the crack in the earth. He looked back to see Uzuri entering the den, then went off on his own again.

[Panda-chan]

Although she knew the earthquake was over, Uzuri was still a little apprehensive as she entered the den. She'd heard of after-shocks, tremors that shook the earth even after the earthquake was gone. Some could even bigger and more dangerous than the earthquakes themselves. If she wasn't careful, one of the tremors could shake the den so hard that it would collapse and bury her alive.
"Just a little rest, and then I'll go home," she promised herself. Besides, she badly felt that she needed it. Her legs were still wobbling, and her scratched-up knees were aching after running so hard and so far.
Uzuri stationed herself near the entrance in case of an after-shock and laid down to rest. She had been wrong in thinking that she would never be able to sleep. Immediately she felt her eyes droop slowly and all her worries disappearing. Her last thought before drifting off was of Khali, and of why she hadn't thanked him for saving her life.

[Moka]

Meanwhile...
Kovu caught up to Zimira and Moka. Kovu asked, "Who's this little guy?" and Zimira responded, "This is Moka, I found him all alone at the end of the forest. I'm gonna take him back to Pride Rock and hopefully King Simba will accept him as a member of the pride."

Kovu hesitated and then said, "He reminds me of myself when I was young." Little Moka smirked.

[Panda-chan]

Uzuri didn't know what made her wake up, but she did. She looked around. Everything was pitch black. It was night.
She gasped. Her parents!
Uzuri scrambled to her paws and ran out of the den into the full glare of the moon. It reminded her of the night of her brother's presentation, but she knew she was wasting her time thinking of things like that. She had to find her parents.
"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME!" she shouted as loudly as she could. She wished Khali were here to comfort her, but she knew he had long since gone off on his own. "Why didn't I follow him? Why did I oversleep?" she scolded herself. But it was no use. Uzuri was lost.

[Moka]

A gopher burrowed himself upwards and surprisingly close to Uzuri's paws. "Whats the racket up here!?" he shouted at her. He maintained his upset face until he realized who it was. "Princess Uzuri? What are you doing out here at this time at night? There are rouges about."

[Panda-chan]

Uzuri felt an overwhelming urge to eat the gopher as soon as she saw it but she held back; she knew this gopher. She knew her father was very fond of it because it had once saved him from a leopard when he was a very young cub. The gopher had taken pity on the small cub and hidden it in one of its holes in the ground until the leopard had passed. Ever since then, King Mbwana had treated it as his special friend, and it had been the closest the Desertlands ever had to a Majordomo.
"R-rogues?" Uzuri stammered. "What's a rogue?" It was the first time she'd asked ever that kind of question, before this she always used to pretend that she knew everything.

[Moka]

The gopher saluted, showing his loyalty, and said, "Rouge Lions - from other prides. They're always out looking for lone lionesses and have been known to kill lone cubs like yourself!" He hopped out of his safe hole. "Come," he said "we'll stay the night in this den until the sun shines and scares them off." He led Uzuri into the den. "Sleep well, Princess. I will stand guard at the entrance. If I see anything, I will wake you up. We may have to run for our lives tonight."

Uzuri closed her eyes even after listening to the gopher's pessimistic words. She was extremely tired after the events of the day.
