This thread is for informative reviews of any television series, movies, or videogames you'd like to tell us about. No "This show sux" or "This show is boss!" type things, please.

I like to hear reviews of any movies or shows I watch, and I think it would be interesting to hear the opinions of MLK when I'm not reading Common Sense Media's or Rotten Tomatoes' reviews x]

Well I may as well kick things off I'll review a TV show and a game

TV - Stargate (All series)

First off I have to say it is one of the biggest best selling and well made shows on the planet ever. I know its not everyones cup of tea but for the sci-fi genre it really pushed the boundaries. I agree maybe it doesnt have the same 'magic' as ye olde star trek with Capitan Kirk but the diversity within the series is amazing. When the original film came out that was supposed to be it, but people demanded a series, so MGM provided. It was a hit and bigger than anyone thought.

Yet again it surpassed expectations. They only planned 3 seasons, that quickly went up to 5 then 8 then 10. Not to mention at the 8th they started running another Stargate series: Atlantis. For 2 more years two Stargate shows were running side by side. When SG-1 ended, Atlantis really had to pick up the pace.. and boy did it. During the 2 years, the end of SG-1 and start of Atlantis, you could tell things were... slow... divided attention. Dont get me wrong I loved every second but the final series of SG-1 seemed... less challenging and the start of Atlantis kinda of lacked a major threat. Usually at the end of a season you get a cliffhanger ending for a huge fight, but season 2 of Atlantis didnt really provide.

Season 3 REALLY kicked Atlantis into shape. Not only did it have the same writers and producers with a total of 12 years under the belt but ti had all their attention and it really shows. The brought back an enemy from SG-1 yet somehow made it even more evil and destructive.. watchers will know what I mean when I say the word Replicators. The final 3 seasons of Atlantis went fantastically, and still managed to link in with the events and cast of SG-1

Sadly though every story has a sour point... the end of Atlantis was.... well i thought anti climactic. A huge threat heading to destroy earth and it was saved within an hour with everyone alive and they didnt even bother to really explain the central villian. It should have lasted at least 2 episodes with a death here and there. Not only that but it just... ended.. the main enemy was still alive. SG-1 at least made 2 more movies so we got to see how it all ended. There is no sign of an Atlantis movie, least not that I have seen

And now we come to the most sour note. Stargate Universe. As a show by its self cut off from everything else, a good show defiantly. Compares to its grandfather and daddy? No where near. I havn't watched all of it, Id like to to see how it ended in season 2.... 2... thats all that was made and its not hard to see why. Your kind of thrust into the story, which isnt really explained to later and expands in so many directions its confusing. The cast was totally new, with hardly any show from our old favs, in fact non from Atlantis. You see O'Niell here and there.. I think Carter twice but thats all. And nothing gets explained in the show properly, what is the ship, why can it do things, how does it do them, who build it. We us regular watchers can answer that but what if you just randomly showed it to some people.. they would be so confused

So what started with a fantastic movie and lasted for 17 years, 19 seasons worth and 3 movies ended in a bit of a bad way. Thats fine though it did a good job with its diversity and never ending new stories, even in Universe it did deliver that much. I just hope that another movie or 2 will come out to nicely clean everything up until then I have the SG-1 boxset and all of Atlantis on my computer to relax to

Game - Persona 3 FES (PS2)

Bit of a jump back console wise but a worth while jump back (I promise this wont take as long as that ^^^^^^) I was introduced to this game by watching a guy called Lee or phychadelicsnake on youtube, and my first reaction to it was i loved it. So I got the game and loved it all the more. Its kind of like final fantasy but you have alot more freedom and the characters are a heck of a lot more likeable (at least compared to recent FF's) The story is ace, the end has you on edge, the combat is well made and not only that but there is so much diversity and planning, which I love in an RPG! Each member of your squad uses certain weapons and has strengths/weaknesses so you have to plan it all out to the letter

Its not just the combat either, outside of it to get stronger you have to level up the stats academics, courage and charm, as well as find and perfect friendships. In the start its ok not so many but later on you can have about 5 different people to spend your afternoon with. My advice if you are playing or will play though is when at school concentrate on getting you school friendships up and dont go no where else, save all others for holidays. I was bored for about 2 weeks in game cause i had nothing to do, partly cause I had finished outside school friends and partly cause I missed half of them and it was too late to be able to rank them up, yet that was MY fault not the game

I struggle to find any fault minus the usually Japanese take on school girls, but apart from that.. I cant find a flaw.. if you love RPGs or just games with good contect get this and play it

Show Review - Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

This was, at one time when I was younger, my favorite show. I would be very disappointed if I missed an episode. This show was fairly popular, and it still is to some extent. It didn't have a long enough run, in my opinion. Most kids will enjoy the humor. It's a comedy-based show, it doesn't have a lot of action, minimal romance (basically a mere crush Mac has on Frankie, too much of an age gap for any romance to develop), nothing dark or scary like Grimm Adventures, and not an excessive amount of potty humor. The characters are Edd, Wilt, Coco, Mac, Blue, Frankie, Madame Foster, and Mr. Herrimen. Mac and Bloo are best friends, Bloo being Mac's imaginary friend. The entire plot revolves around a 'foster home' for imaginary friends that were abandoned. Quite creative, if you ask me and it allows you to have a lot of fun with character design. Speaking of that, I'll review the characters.

Mac is a good role model, creative, fun, and often sets Bloo straight.

Bloo is hilarious but selfish.

Coco... an airplane bird that can only say, "Coco!"

Wilt is a friendly, overly caring tall red... thing with a missing arm.

Eduardo is a purple monster with enormous horns and he loves potatoes.

Mr. Herrimen is constantly called a rabbit, although he is a hare. He is Madame Foster's assistant.

Frankie: An assistive employee of The Home for Imaginary Friends, and sometimes whiny.

Madame Foster is a quirky old woman although she isn't featured much...

I'd say the character desing is fairly unique, creative, although not a stroke of genius. But sometimes simpler is better. The animation flows smoothly, and looks good. There is a great amount of character development, and in fact the characters are often considered the best part of the show. New characters are introduced frequently, as kids can make up imaginary friends any time at will. A teen was seen creating an imaginary pizza slice friend and eating him. YOU'VE SOLVED WORLD HUNGER.

All in all, this is a great show that anyone 6 and above can thoroughly enjoy.

I'd have to say this is my favorite movie. The characters just flowed with each other and made me feel that; even if you are a little different, you'll still find love. The way Jake Sully and Neytiri meet is amazing, he finally gets to see a true Na'vi fighting. They had Jake Sully carry the fire stick so then after Neytiri came, the forest would light up. I love the way they came up with a good idea for that.

The work and money put into this was outstanding amounts. The graphics make your screen light up, and the way the characters move like people and look like they are real is magnificent. The leafs, trees, ground, ect, are amazing. They all look so real! A lot of people have been saying it copied "Pocahontas", in which I do not believe. How else are you supposed to make a film these days without it relating to another film?

Well, this is only because I show tons of interest into the movie. If someone who totally hated the movie were to write this, then it would be "It's such a bad movie, blah blah.". No, I like this movie. So It's a good review, and to be honest.. I've seen this movie more than 200 times. I give it a 5 stars out of 5.

200 times, wow! I loved the movie, too, although I found the plot cliche I was totally awed by the graphics. Naturally being... La'Vie, I felt competitive with the Creature Designs, claiming they were inferior to my own ^^' I think they're great, the flying dragon things were amazing. I never got to see it in 3-D, but I watched it on Christmas.

I'm almost done with the series, so when I finish I plan to do an extensive reveiw of Teen Titans x]

SpongeBob SquarePants
Created by Stephen Hillenburg

By the way, this is my first time writing a review for anything. I tried my best, and worked hard on it. If you care, I'd like some of your positive feedback by PM. That would be much appreciated, thanks.

OK, I have a few things to say about this show. First of all, this is my 2nd favorite show after Fairly Oddparents (I will have to write a review about this show sometime, I'm just not done watching it yet.) Well, what can I say? SpongeBob SquarePants is sort of like a Nautical/Hawaiian themed-cartoon, and that's what I'd like to find in more cartoons these days. If you have not heard of this show before, I recommend that you people who own cable watch it. You can catch it on Nickelodeon every day (on whatever channel number it's on), the series will not end anytime soon. It is a very popular show, and it's mostly aimed towards little children/kids, even teens sometimes. Maybe adults? Every season is on DVD, but I'm not too sure about Season 8. A film called "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie", was released back in theaters around 2004. Of course, it is no longer in theaters anymore. If you loved it, you can look for it on DVD in stores today. It is indeed the funniest movie I've seen in years and is considered to be my top favorite of all time.

The series started in 1999, and is still present today. The pilot episode is "Help Wanted", where you'll be seeing SpongeBob's first appearance and other characters. In total, there are 8 seasons, as of now. I must say, the character design is well thought-out too. Each character has their own, unique personality, which makes them special characters of the series. Whenever I see the ocean out on the beach, I always pretend that Bikini Bottom is really underwater in our world, but I know it doesn't exist. Stephen Hillenburg is the creator of this wonderful series.

SpongeBob also has lots of songs that are fun to sing along too. F.U.N., Doing the Sponge, The Campfire Song Song, Best Day Ever, etc. Other cartoons can't beat SpongeBob when it comes to cartoon songs! This show has the best songs ever. SpongeBob has many albums (I don't know how many in total, but there's plenty.)

I just want to point out one thing; the older episodes have funnier writing. Newer episodes? Not that much. It's still funny, but they don't make me laugh as much anymore. Another thing: I don't get why people must write hateful comments if they dislike the show. "Hate" is a strong word, please, use "don't like", or "dislike". I prefer those words instead of "hate". If you dislike SpongeBob so much, then why bother to watch it? You don't want to disappoint the fans, I am one of them.

The voice actors are so talented, they deserved to be praised. Tom Kenny is the voice of SpongeBob, Clancy Brown is the voice of Mr. Krabs, Rodger Bumpass is the voice of Squidward Tentacles, Carolyn Lawrence is the voice of Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Lawrence is the voice of Plankton, and Bill Fagerbakke is the voice of Patrick Star. Dee Bradly Baker does some of the additional voices on the show. All the names of the characters I just mentioned are the main characters of the series.

Overall, I enjoy this show as much as I love Fairly Oddparents. 10/10. I bet you'll make lots of laughs and giggles if you catch some of the older episodes. If you're a newbie to SpongeBob SquarePants, I recommend you watch one of the older episodes from 1999-2004. I gurantee, you will love the show after you've seen your first episode. Lots of people say that SpongeBob has gone downhill after Season 3, but I disagree. SpongeBob is still our fun, and loveable sponge. Watch SpongeBob SquarePants now. I assure you, you will be amused.

Drake and Josh

One of my all time favorite sitcoms ever! Drake and Josh was a children's sitcom from the years 2004-2007. It had 4 seasons in total. The series finally ended with a movie, Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh, in 2008 around the holiday time of December. ^^

Overall, I love this show a lot. It's so funny with Drake Bell as Drake Parker and Josh Peck as Josh Nichols. They both play as two stepbrothers who encounter their lives together after their parents got married in the 1st episode. The cast also included Miranda Cosgrove as Megan Parker, Nancy Sullivan as Aundrey Parker/Nichols, and Jonathan Goldstein as Walter Nichols.

Throughout the 4 seasons, Josh Peck really grew up and lost a lot of weight. He used to be chubby in season 1 and got skinner by season 3 and more skinner by season 4. Drake Bell didn't change too much but was still good looking. Miranda Cosgrove changed from a little girl to a young teenager. This was the time when I used to like Miranda. I don't like her at all after she went onto iCarly.... :ehh:

Drake and Josh will make your minds blow off with their great comedy and you'll have a great time watching the show. Their episodes were so awesome and I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for true laughter from a sitcom.

Okay, I'll give you guys a small review of a show I've been going through recently. Maybe I'll review the different doctors as I go through them.

DOCTOR WHO - The William Hartnell Years (First Doctor) Review

Okay, first off, in my opinion, Doctor Who is the greatest science fiction Television series ever created. I just feel, that no other show was quite as well put together, quite as brilliant, or quite as advanced for it's time as it was. I think it even beats Star Trek in character design, and plot progression. And overally, there are just so many things that are so widely known whenever you mention Doctor Who (ex. is The TARDIS. A traveling time machine, that is conviniently disguised as a Police Telephone Booth.)

Okay, well first I'm going to give you the first doctor, William Hartnell. To be honest, at first, I wasn't very impressed. I thought the characters were horrible, the quality was un-bearable, and the story was to slow. The first story arc... doesn't start off very strong in my opinion. I thought the way they all started traveling together was perfect, but other then that... did they REALLY have to start in the medevil times? I mean seriously, it wasn't all that interesting. The most interesting part is the ending of the story arc.

After that is a very small story arc where the TARDIS suddenly stops, and eveyone is starting to get pains through various places in their bodies. Yeah, odd episode. I think it bridged the gap for one the next episode, which is the introduction of the great alien species...

THE DALEKS. Yes, they're some of my ALL-TIME favorite Sci-Fi enemys. I know your gonna say, but they're just robots. Well, they're big preserved brains inside robots, with their only goal being to destroy their planet and rid them of anything not a Dalek. Though as usual with Doctor Who, the episodes get quite repetitive, reaching up to nearly 10 episodes for this one story line. But it's well worth it, in my opinions.

Then there's the Keys or Marinus. I loved it, and it's one of my favorite Storys so far. I just love the animatronic brains. As well as how very great the puzzles are in the episodes, I'd say it shapes up to be a great episode.

This is all I've watched so far, but you've got to bear with me... that's like over or around 30 episodes of show I have watched. And it's hard to get into Doctor Who, from the beginning, because BBC destroyed a lot of the tapes. So half the episodes are missing. I'm only really watching the storys that still exist, Cuz I'd rather not listen to an old audio file with pictures on it. xD

Eigther way, flawless series, and it really helped shaped the way for a lot of Sci-Fi shows to come.

I'll be reviewing my favorite TV Sitcom, Roseanne, tomorrow. :)

Hannah Montanna

Worst TV show and movie ever! My friends used to love it and I was like this WTF? I tryed watching he movie but I turned it off after the first 10 minutes. It was so lame and boring. I heard its finishing and I'm so glad! I dont know how kids nowadays could like it. Its like a even lamer version on HSM (High School Musical). I know think every teenage thing on nicklodeon is lame. Like icarly and all that kinda stuff. But Hannah Montanna is the worst! Shes not a bad singer but I cant take her seriously anymore. All I see is her lame voice I feel sorry for the kids now. Their TV shows arent as good as ours. Well.. thats all I have to say. Its my opinion.
