How are they souless? Have you actually seen any of the old shows or movies? The newest movie was awful, but the 80's movies were good.
The old ones had a more 'MLP' style of life, the new ones seem all "OMG FLASHING RAINBOWS CLOSE UPS LOUD NOISES HEY KIDS LOOK AT ME I'M COOL AAAHHHH" and what's with the drums and electric guitar in the theme tune? How can they hold onto each others hooves?

Please tone down the language, too.

If you mean the word "crap", then that will make no sense whatsoever.

I've seen shows on kid's channels use that word. Shows rated TV PG or less. It's not even considered a swear.

And, as for the old MLP being soulless, is because the only goal of that show is to be cute and appeal to kids (and sell more toys.) FiM appeals to a much broader audience with real personalities, humor, and conflicts. It was created by Lauren Faust, who is the wife of Craig McCracken who ALSO made "kid's" shows that appealed to a larger audience (even adults) like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Powerpuff Girls.

I love Foster`s Home for Imaginary Friends and Powerpuff Girls.

But I also love the old, classical MLP. It makes me sad to see how it`s been changed.

Yeah, I have.
I used to like the ponies because they looked like real ponies.. But like Annie said, the new ones are totally against the old design.

I could personally care less, as long as the show is overall superior.

Hard to argue that, for whatever reason, FiM is appealing to a much much broader audience and not doing so for the sole purpose of marketing (since much of the fanbase are not the people who buy the toys). Say of it what you will, Annie, but a very large amount of smart, non-sheep people are enamored with the show, so it's difficult to argue it's a mindless cash cow. FiM has that special something. And whatever it is, it was unintentional, since the massive 18-25 male viewing audience was exactly what the show was -not- targeted at.

And I'm totally over arguing with you. I'll never like the new show and obviously you don't like the old one. I Simply thing the old one is better, because it's how MLP started and is meant to be, plus, the toys from the old one are far better than the creepy looking new ones.

Just because it's the first iteration doesn't mean that's 'how it's meant to be'. From what I've seen, it's more fairytale while FiM is more contemporary. :3

Yeah. Some may like the originals better, some may like FiM better.
