The Forest on Elk Ridge (Always Open)

Rzu halted in the doorway. He grinned, then turned back around, heading for the human. The white suit looked thin enough. He rose, arching in a threat position,and then lunged. He felt the fangs sink into skin, and quickly pulled them out. He slithered away as fast as he could, only looking back to see the human jumping and holding its leg. He smiled. The poison would be fast.
Rzu emerged from the building, a satisfied expression on his face.

[Misiziri]

Vesir lowered his antlers in a hurry. "We're leaving. Now. I'm sorry. Say goodbye to the life you used to lead..."

[Zoketi]

"Oh, it was nothing special. My life is much more interesting now." Rzu smirked. He slithered onto Vesir's antlers, still wearing the same expression.

Vesir asked him, "Why the happy expression?! I have to give up my land! Everything I knew! Because some... weird beast thinks he's smarter than us!" his temper flared.

Thor stepped in. "Calm yourself, Vesir. Now, the solution is simple. We avoid these beings for as long as we can," he said.

Rzu dropped his smirk. "Ssssorry. I bit the human." He hissed softly.

Thor looked the serpent in the eyes. "It's fine. I would have done the same thing," he stated.

After a long and tiring march, they had reached the other side of Mt. Barrier.

"Good! We made it this far... we need to descend to the lower part of the forest. But it's going to be difficult to move in a northward direction. Stay by my side and whatever you do, do not lose sight of the herd!"
