"I didn't say anything." Mwunga replied, confused. She peered around, her tail thrashing.

Shomari flattened his ears an shrunk close to Mwunga.

[Misiziri]

Ha ha ha!

It was more like a cackle than a friendly laugh.

"Someone finds us funny! I do not see anything funny."

Velka squinted in the distance. Pairs of glowing circles emerged from the dark, burning the black with white.

"Laughing beasts!" He yelled, terrified.

[Zoketi]

Mwunga growled. "Hyenas." She spat, gazing at the creatures. "Velka, run." She instructed, turning and hissing at the hyenas.

Shomari let out a small mewl, but held his ground. He narrowed his eyes, pushing away the fear.

[Misiziri]

Ha ha ha hee! Ta ha ha! The ear-splitting cackle grew more obnoxious.

"Oh, would you look at that, man! It's a red zebra and two little, uh... whatcha-ma-call-'ems!"

"Lions?"

"Yeah," he said, drawing out the word, "Lions. Oh, man, do I hate lions. They think that big hair makes 'em better 'en everyone else."

"Hey, hey, hey. These guys look pretty little. What say we... play a few games with 'em? Huh? Whatcha thing, Koori?"

"I like it. Great suggestion, ha ha ha ha!"

Mwunga snarled, hating these hyenas. She backed against Shomari, whose claws flashed as he pawed the ground. Mwunga arched her back in threat.

"Hee hee hee! They think they can fight us, Drune!"

[Misiziri]

(Is Drune a new hyena character )

Koori burst out laughing, "Look at the male lion o'er there! He's shakin' like a baby cheetah! Pffff ha ha ha ha ha ha! Aw man, man. I've been wanting revenge on them nasty lions for a long time now. I got my golden oppurtinity," he growled, licking his lips.

[Nah, just messing around. xP Maybe I should make him though...>:)]

"Jeez. 'never seen anything lamer! Ha ha ha!" Drune banged the ground with a paw. He regained control and shook out his fur, prowling closer to the lions.

Mwunga loosed a loud roar, startling the hyenas. In their moment of surprise she shoved Shomari and dashed away.

[Misiziri]

"Run!" Koori shouted, a sudden jolt of actual gravity in his voice.

As the group ran, they found themselves heading straight towards more hyenas.

"You kitties... you're outnumbered. See unlike yous, we hyenas'll share with each other. We watch 'chother's backs. You greedy pigs try and keep everythin' to yourselves. You only in a pride because the females hunt your dinner. Our females are leaders."

[Zoketi]

Drune snickered. "You lions fail." He chortled, stepping behind Shomari. "You ain't so big now."

Shomari lauched himself at the hyena. He had had enough. Mwunga gasped, trying to pull him back. She was attacked by the rest of the group.

[Misiziri]

This particular group of hyenas was actually a band of 5 groups that merged together as one, under the lead of a powerful and clever female hyena. Sensing the terrible drought that was to come, they figured they'd try and kill off as many lions as they could. They had succeeded somewhat, having wiped out 3 females and 1 male, 3 sick cubs and multiple sick/wounded lions.

They lunged and bit without hesitance, viciously trying to inflict damage on Mwunga and Shomari. Velka, although prey, wasn't being targeted. He tried to kick and pound the hyenas with his flying hooves.
