The Forest on Elk Ridge (Always Open)

[Misiziri]

"Yes, really, can you believe that? If the mountain had a forest in it, it would collapse in on itself." He declared, trying to make himself seem smart. And he was, but he enjoyed proving it to new friends he met.

His ears twitched. He heard Rzu's bump, "Anyone else here? My, I'm getting a lot of visitor's today!" He joked.

Aleeni let out a little peal of laughter. "So it seems." She answered, wondering what now. "Oh yes, may I have the pleasure of knowing your name?" She added, gazing at the elk.

Rzu's tongue tasted the scents of elk and wolves. He slithered softly through the dead leaves, soon spotting paws and hooves. He glanced around, still hidden in the undergrowth. His mottled scales camouflaged well, though still visible if anyone parted the foliage.
The boomslang let out a soft hiss, opening his mouth. His sharp fangs dripped venom. If the larger animals were any threat, he'd give them something to busy themselves with. On the other hand, he had no intention of interfering. Rzu slithered around a tree, still under bushes, at last glimpsing the full bodies of the nearby animals.

"My name is Vesir, it means 'formid and power' in Ancestral Elk." he boasted.

"And your name would be...?"

[Zoketi]

"Aleeni." Aleeni answered promptly. She felt a twinge of interest at Vesir's name meaning, but shoved it away. "If it has a meaning, I've forgotten."

Rzu watched them for a moment, then slithered past. He was still in range of detection, and had no real interest of leaving yet. He kept backtracking and circling, meanwhile flicking his tongue in case of something tasty.

"I know Aleeni's meaning. My grandmother had that name. If I recall, it means... "purest truth." It's a fancy-dancy name," he teased.

Vesir heard leaves crackle, "Alright, who's there? You can show yourself."

[Zoketi]

Aleeni narrowed her eyes playfully. "Humph." She snorted, her tail giving a slight twitch. She turned and gazed around at the leave crackling.

Rzu gave a soft sigh and emerged from the bushes. If they were smart, they would know he was quite venomous. Feeling slightly confident of his power, he looked up at the male elk.

[Misiziri]

Vesir jumped backwards, "SLITHERY THING! RUN!" He bolted about 50 feet backwards and stopped, realizing how foolish he mad himself look. He lowered his head, his antler's covering his face, and blushed.

[Zoketi]

Aleeni jumped back as Vesir bolted. She gave a light chuckle, surprised at his actions. "If you don't bother it, it won't bother you." She quoted her mother, smiling at Vesir, then looked back to the snake.

Rzu blinked. He hadn't meant to scare the elk, thought it was amusing. He arched upwards, stretching to be taller. "My apologiessss." He hissed quietly.

[Misiziri]

Vesir recovered from embarrassment. "Sorry, it's just, uh, that's a venom snake. So I got a little scared, ha ha ha..." he admitted reluctantly.

Resora came flying in suddenly, her beak flapping, "Guys, guys, guys, I just got some- WOAH, hopping horses, it's a venom snake! Get away, go before it kills you!"

Aleeni looked up at the bird. She flicked her ears, and with a sigh looked back at the boomslang snake.

Rzu rolled his eyes. Sometimes this bothered him, everyone being so scared. At least the female was sensible.
