Mwunga sighed softly. "I get that all the time--about being strange." She replied, her voice hinting sadness. She enjoyed being with others, though many thought her odd.
She remembered the time when she had healed a young lion, who was at the point where he was very judgmental about things. He had called her a weirdo, despite being healed.
Mwunga shook her head as if clearing away the thoughts. She gave Velka a pretty smile.

Velka cooed, "Don't be sad about my words, friend," he spoke softly, "Man is great. I was with man when I was a calf. I was very sick, very. They healed me. I was bitten by a laughing beast, it found everything funny. I ran away, but my wound was infected. And the pain went away. I walked around in an enclosure, it didn't have a lot of space but I was safe from the laughing beast. And lots of men would look at me and their eyes would grow large," he continued his story, "and every time a man walked in, he'd hand my saviors green leaves. This made my saviors very happy. My enclosure was dirty, sure, but I was safe! Until they were told they had to get rid of me. I was saddened by that."

BTW I purposely make Velka speak so oddly, I'm aware the speech sounds grammatically incorrect

Mwunga shot a glance of pity at Velka. "I've never liked Man though...." She sighed, remembering the hunters. "I assume that there are both good and bad of them." She scuffed the ground with a paw.

Shomari snorted to himself as he watched the two. Annoyed, he sprung away to investigate. As his eyes followed a butterfly, he felt like a small cub again.

"Hunters? Man? Where have you seen such atrocity? Truth is not being told here," He stated, not because he didn't want to believe it, but because he was thoroughly convinced man was perfect. "Man must've only come here to find the rectangle green leaves. My saviors adored those." He asserted. The more stern he got, the choppier his sentence fluency became.

Mwunga turned in surprise. She opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. She couldn't destroy his image of Man, she didn't want to tell him the truth.
Truth could hurt.
"Nevermind." She sighed and flicked her tail gently against him.

Velka smiled, thinking falsely he had claimed victory. "Yes. You must've mistook. I thought the fat lion was a female," he stated.

He looked up at the sun. "Is strange it not..." he could barely speak for some reason, "that such a pretty object could cause so much devastation? Too much of good things, I guess, is not going to continue to be good," he stammered.

"Yes..." Mwunga murmured, also looking up. "The bad things are always hidden under the good ones." She sighed, lowering her eyes. The view still entranced her.

"I wonder what happens in places where there is no sun. You won't believe this, Mwunga. It is unimaginable. In time where the sun is gone, white falls from the sky! Pure white... little things just float down from the aboves." He told her, amazed.
