((OOC: Just a heads up. Sorry for the absolutely mahoosive post. I do this for most first posts. I like giving a general overview of what's happening

my posts will definitely be shorter now, don't worry XD)
Connor continued to pace up and down the cockpit of the Normandy SR-2, trying to figure out what his, and the whole crew's, next moves would be. They had just destroyed The Collectors' base without any casualties; the so-called suicide mission turned out to be little more than one hell of a fight. That was just the beginning though. The reapers were coming. The fate of the universe and every species rested in Commander Connor Shepard's hands. Planning needed to begin almost straight away.
Connor's thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the ship's own artificial intelligence, EDI.
"Commander, I have detected an anomaly on the surface of the planet that we are currently orbiting." EDI notified Connor, it's spherical blue avatar appearing to the side of the Joker and Connor.
Connor acknowledged this with a nod and opened his mouth to speak. Joker, however got there before him. "Hey, Shepard? This anomaly isn't your average distress call. The sensors are picking up massive readings of dark energy. Like, off the damn charts." Joker explained while frantically typing away on the orange holographic piloting interface.
Connor stops pacing around the metal room and averts his attention to Joker. "Joker, you sure your readings are correct? I mean, not even Haestrom's star had this amount of dark energy affecting it." Connor asked a hint of concern and surprise clearly present in his voice.
Joker glanced over his shoulder at Connor and then back at the console he was sitting in front of. "Of course they're right! You're talking to the best damn helmsman in the entire alliance fleet. I don't get my readings wrong, especially with EDI here nagging at me over my shoulder the entire day." Joker assured Connor, not in a cocky, arrogant manner but in an I'm-doing-my-job-correctly kind of way. Joker's personality was a breath of fresh air in the harsh life or death environment that came with being the only hope of the galaxy.
Connor simply smirked at this and crossed his arms. He had made his decision. "Joker, land as close as you can get to this dark energy signature. I'll be back here with the squad in five minutes." With this, Connor turned on his heels and started jogging to his quarters to put on his own armour and equip himself properly for this mission.

Connor stood with his assault rifle in his hand, Tali'zorah vas Normandy and Garrus Vakarian on either side of him. These two were the people he trusted most on his team. This was really no great surprise, as they had both been with him when Sovereign attacked the Citadel. Garrus was a great friend and was someone who would always be watching out for you no matter where you were on the battlefield. You could more than rely on him to save your ass from a sticky situation.
Tali was brought on this mission for more than just the fact that she had already dealt with dark energy before. Yes, she might know how to deal with it but she was here for more than that. Tali and Connor shared the strongest form of trust one could imagine; Love. That bond would keep Tali and Connor together throughout the highs and lows on this mission. Tali was the sort of person who would understand when you needed comforting. Her support would keep the whole mission going.
Connor glanced at Tali and Garrus once more, receiving nods of approval from them both before opening a communications channel with Joker. "Alright, Joker, open the airlock."
"Aye aye, commander." Joker then proceeded to open the airlock to the outside world.
A synthetic voice was heard from the room the three were in. "Equalising interior pressure with exterior atmosphere."
This was the cue for the airlock door to open, and so it did. Tali, Garrus and Connor walked out onto the lush green plains of the world and began to scan the surroundings for any sign of a threat, their weapons were raised in caution.
As they progressed further, the Normandy still clearly in sight, they noticed a group of three people up ahead. Connor signalled for Garrus and Tali to move into cover, along with himself. He placed his Mattock assault rifle on the ground and gestured for Garrus to throw him his sniper so that he could get a better look at the group. None of them looked anything like human colonists or alliance soldiers and this made Connor quite concerned. Who were they? Why were they here? How did they get here? He knew that he could always call the Normandy for reinforcements but he decided against it. Maybe a peaceful outcome would be possible.
Connor threw back the sniper to Garrus and picked up his Mattock again. He slowly stood up and motioned for Tali and Garrus to do so, too. They both adhered and the group made their way over to the others, their weapons still raised in caution. "Who are you and why are you here?" Commander Connor Shepard asked authoritatively.
