Online Journal/Diary?

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Meh, honestly I think there should be different boards for Hidden Journals (nobody can view or post), Private Journals (people can view but not post) and Public Journals (everybody can view and post). Personally, I don't see a reason why you'd have it private though... Why even post it on the internet, then?

Which would be why it'd be better to have blogs ingraved into the forum, because then you can decide whether to block people out or not, and the mods wouldn't have to do all of that. :P Think of how large this forum is, there'd be hundreds of boards for journals! Think of how horrid it be, being a mod, and having to scroll through hundreds of boards worth of journals, to do their job. This site is already a big enough site to have to deal with. Gotta remember, people have lifes, and maybe don't want to do all that to help out the forum. I think at the amount of boards now, it is perfect, and the forum was actually rearranged to fit a more workable condition. Otherwise, we'd still have the Balto forums, and all the seperate boards for music/games/ex. :P

Not everyone has a MLKFAA page or a Den :P Which is why I support this idea, as it would allow everyone to do something creative and to express their thoughts if they wish.

True, but not everyone uses it as it's mainly for uploading fan art. I suppose one could have a journal there, though.

I think a blog-type place should be added. As stated, not all has a den. I like the idea. It would be nice to express separate opinions. Maybe there could be a spot in each blog for comments/questions only? (srry using a Droid hard to type...)

Sorry but IMO saying "Not everyone has a den" and using that as leverage to have blogs or whatever it is you would want to call them, kind of devalues the point of having to earn a member den in the first place.
And I am not even just saying that because I happen to have one, it just gives people some kind of reward for being... Well behaved, I guess you would call it?

Hmm... didn't think about it that way... that's a very good point. Now that I think about it it might be better not to have blog things and just earn the dens? idk. idc much anymore, what ever works.

As much as it sounds like a good idea, I don't think it'd ever work, considering people different levels of wanting privacy. Obviously some would want it to where noone could see it, and some whould want people to post comments in their journals. This would only cluster up the forum even more, as I said before. And as Flip said, it would devalue the Member Den's, and make them to where they weren't really needed anymore. As far as I'm concerned, if you want to keep a journal, just make one in The Den, it's an off-topic area, no one is going to stop you. If you want it to be personal to yourself, just as people no to post in it. After all, once something is on the internet, anyone can read it/access it. The only way you can achieve privacy with journals is to actually write in a real journal, and keep it in a location no one is going to find it at. What's the sense of having it online if you want no one to see it, or comment on it. If you were gonna go that far, just write it in Microsoft Word, and password protect it.

Going through and reading everyone's opinions, I'm not sure wether to support it or not. What if it was one of those "Secret Boards" (like what was suggested for a "Adult Board") and Mods invited who they thought would be right for the journals? I think it could work out c: But it's just a suggestion. I don't really care XD
