"Good." Kitsune licked the bone and blew on it, blowing off the dust from the scratches. "It's lookin' nice," she said to herself. She picked it up and stood.
Kalo glanced around eagerly. She had always wanted to meet Ash. Dusk had told her so much.

Sonic led the trek as it continued. Soon, the sun was coming up. The group was thankful for this, as it meant the enemy couldn't use the shadows to hide. Suddenly, Sonic heard a rumbling sound. "Be still, everyone. That sound isn't good news," he said.

[Nyota]

Kalo froze midstep, suddenly looking like a statue. Kitsune stopped, but rolled her eyes in amusement. "Deer. Way too good at sitting still," she said around her bone.
"Thank you, Captain Obvious," Kalo agreed with equal amusement.

Sonic knew what it was. "Guys, get ready. That's one of Robotnik's machines," he stated.

[Nyota]

Kitsune peeled her lips back. "Kalo, are you going to fight? If not, I want you to take my bone. If you are... I guess I'll fight with it in my mouth."
Kalo stood still. "Sonic, what do you think? Should I fight?"

Sonic looked at the doe. "If you think you can, do so. However, be wary. Robotnik will stop at nothing to get rid of anyone traveling with me," he said.

[Nyota]

"You'll have to put that bone somewhere safe, Kitsune," Kalo said. "Sorry, but I wanna fight. I want a good story of my own to tell father sometime."
Kitsune nodded and shoved the bone under a bush.

Sonic laughed. "Well, Robotnik is so fat that is will be funny to see him fall on his huge butt," he said.

"I think we all wanna see that," sneered Kitsune, dipping at the ground with one paw.
